Beware – incoming stampede on a slot from BetSoft Gaming. Offering a breath taking view of the African savanna, Stampede takes you on a safari to the home of mighty elephants, lightning-fast cheetahs, gracious giraffes, and galloping zebras. They roam the reels with 1,024 ways to win and a free spins round with wild multipliers that can lead to payouts of up to 3,847 times your bet.

Overview and Design

Pair of Binoculars

The custom cinematic Slots3 technology allows BetSoft to create true 3D games that impress with staggeringly crisp graphics and stunning animations. On Stampede, it includes a gorgeous view of the African savanna at sundown with scattered acacia trees and roaming giraffes in the background. The reels are populated by some of the most common animals native to this environment while a tribal soundtrack further adds to the authenticity.

Stampede is played on a 5x4 reel set with 1,024 ways to win. Pays are awarded for two to five matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right, starting with the leftmost reel.

There are no set paylines, instead paying out any valid sequences as long as there are the right symbols on adjacent reels, so the number of ways to win is determined by the various combinations possible across the five reels. This works out to four positions on each reel to the power of five reels (4 ^ 5), which is how we get the total of 1,024 winning ways.

You get to choose your coin size ($0.01 - $1.00) and bet level (from 1 to 5), which determines your total bet amount. You always play 40 coins per bet level, meaning that the maximum is 200 coins per pull.

Given these parameters, your slot safari starts at $0.40 and peaks at a high-roller friendly $200 per spin. Just like stampeding animal herds, the game is highly volatile with an RTP of 95.27%, which means the house edges comes in at 4.73%.

Winning Combinations

Apples and Orange

The pay table starts at the low end with the usual playing cards from 10 to A, awarding 2.5 times your stake when five land across the reels. On the medium level, you will find gazelles, giraffes and zebras with the payouts increasing to 3x your stake. The premium symbols are eagles, cheetahs and elephants. Hit five on a spin to win 3.75x to 7.5x your bet.

A wooden icon with tribal paintings and marked with the word “WILD” itself is the wild symbol, appearing on reels two, three, and four only and substituting for all regular pay symbols. An elegant Acacia tree at sundown acts as the scatter symbol.

Stampede Free Spins Feature

Right Arrow

While you can hit big wins in the base game when you land stacked symbols on the reels, the largest potential on the Stampede slot is clearly in the free spins. Hit three, four or five scatters anywhere on the reels in one spin to trigger 8, 12, and 20 free spins respectively, which can be retriggered indefinitely. You also get a one-time payment before the free spins start of between 2x and 20x your bet depending on how many acacia scatters you hit.

The kicker in the bonus round is the wild symbol, which will appear with a multiplier attached. These wilds will multiply all wins by x2 or x3 when they are part of a winning combo. More than one wild can land in one spin, in which case they will be multiplied by each other. The maximum would be to have an x3 multiplier wild on each of the three center reels, leading to an overall win multiplier of x27.

Double Up Mechanic

Up Arrow

Stampede comes with an interesting Double Up mechanism whereby you can double any winning payout apart from those generated by free spins. You have to guess heads or tails on a coinflip with heads being the image of an elephant while tails is represented on the coin by an acacia tree.

If you predict the coin toss correctly, you can keep gambling again to try to really run up your balance. Or press the “Collect” button to take your wins and return to the game.

Curiously, there's a Gamble 50% option that lets you risk only a portion your win. Then if you happen to lose, you forfeit half your payment but still have the ability to Gamble All or Gamble 50% again with the reduced amount.

The way that the Double Up functionality is implemented in Stampede lets you manage your risk according to your own financial preferences.

Stampede Mobile Play

Computer Devices

It wasn’t too long ago that we laughed at the notion of having a casino in our pockets at all times. But it is true, mobile gaming has emerged from a niche offering to become the fastest growing sector in the industry. Worldwide, close to 50% of all casino gaming is happening on a mobile device, a rate which is bound to grow even further as we increasingly grow into a mobile society.

Naturally, game providers are supporting this trend, and they currently release their games in both mobile and desktop versions. BetSoft Gaming was one of the pioneers in developing slots in HTML5 format, switching as early as 2016 their entire catalog and all new releases to the latest standard. It comes then as no surprise that you can play Stampede on virtually any desktop or mobile device, including Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.

Conclusion

Man and Ball

The African savanna theme never fails to mesmerize us. Too beautiful and impressive is the combination of fire colors at sundown, immersing the surroundings into a perfect postcard picture.

It looks just as impressive on the Stampede slot thanks to the true 3D cinematic design. And there is even more, as the game comes with high volatility, which means bigger wins but less often. The maximum is more than 700,000 coins, which is something any devoted slotting enthusiast will happily take home from his or her reel safari.

For those who can't take the heat of the savanna and its corresponding high volatility, we recommend playing BetSoft games with medium variance such as Yak, Yeti & Roll or Chilli Pop.
