Check your email, Full Tilt Poker sent out emails to US players today about poker payouts from the Department of Justice (DOJ)...
What does this mean for online poker? We like to think that it is another step in the right direction towards US legalization. Pokerstars now owns FTP, and in doing so paid off the DOJ and US Government as part of the deal. Pokerstars admitted no criminal wrong-doing. ProfessionalRakeback believes that the world's largest online poker room will not be left out of the markets. This was how they get a clean slate to come back into a regulated US market.
The cash-out process, hopefully it won't be a pain in the ass. Informally, we think that collectively, USA based ProfRB players have nearly a million dollars locked up on FTP! The last time we remember the US Government seizing poker related funds was the Neteller fiasco. It was actually not a painful process at all as we recall. Hopefully the DOJ will hire a competent party to disburse the funds.
If you live in any country other than the USA, Italy, Spain, or France, and you haven't signed up at Full Tilt Poker, now is the time. PokerStars purchased Full Tilt Poker and made this settlement possible. Read our new Full Tilt Poker Site Reviews here. Unfortunately as you can read in the email, Full Tilt will not be servicing the US market. In the mean time, we offer two great networks for the US market, Merge Gaming (Carbon Poker, PDC Poker, Aced) and The Winning Poker Network (ACR Poker, True Poker, Black Chip, BookMaker).
