Merge Gaming Network & Winning Poker Network (WPN) Updates

Both the Winning Poker Network and the Merge Gaming Network put out software updates to make their MTT players happier...

US Online Poker News - December 2012

Professional Rakeback brings you a couple pieces of news in regards to our partner poker networks from the last couple days, sorry, we have been a bit slow to update!  Both the Merge Gaming Network and The Winning Poker Network have some upcoming changes that we would like to share with you, our loyal customers and readers.  Do not worry, every bit of news we have to offer today is quite positive!

Merge Gaming Network

The Merge Gaming Network put out a small update to the poker client last night.  This update affects all of the poker operators on the network including, but not limited to, our partner and flagship skin of the network, Carbon Poker.  Other skins affected that Professional Rakeback calls friend include Aced Poker, PDC Poker and PokerHost.  This update affects all of the Jazette skins including Sportsbook, PlayersOnly and Superbook as well as third party operators such as Black Chip, RPM, Overbet, FeltStars, BluffGaming, and more.

This update concerns itself with a few of the niche cash games, some language issues, and most importantly with how the poker client interacts with tournaments and satellite tournaments. Professional Rakeback's multi-table tournament grinders will be the most pleased with its contents:

- Addressed a minor issue with the German translation
- Adjusted how game list flags affect the results in the advanced lobby filters
- Razz is now correctly included in the game-list type "Stud, Draw and Other"
- Resolved an issue where the Add-on window was displaying an incorrect string
- Tournament lobbies now provide links between Satellite tournaments and their main events
- Resolved a rare issue preventing tournaments from returning from breaks
- Jurisdictions allowed slightly modified, to see if you are affected in your region, check out this article that answers the question, Is Carbon Poker legal?

Winning Poker Network

Meanwhile, the Winning Poker Network put out an update of its own, that influences heavily how multi table online poker tournaments are played on its virtual tables.  This is very important to ProfRB's MTT grinders insofar as it will synchronize their play on all US facing sites besides Bovada!  Check out a snippet from the press release we recently received:

At 55 minutes past the hour, the tournament clock will stop. All hands in play will continue to play out as normal. The 5-minute break will commence as soon as all in-play hands in the tournament are complete. The tournament will resume five minutes later and poker players can look forward to another break at fifty five minutes past the next hour.

Harris notes that players who play in more than one tournament at once will find synchronized breaks especially beneficial. Instead of each tournament breaking at a different time, all tournaments will break for five minutes simultaneously. That means online poker players seated in more than one tournament will always have a scheduled break to look forward to.

This is such great news for ProfRB players!  Now they can grind all of our partner poker sites, Merge, Winning, Revolution, and Bovada the same time and always know they have breaks coming at fifty five minutes past the hour!  We'd be happy to tell you all about our online gaming partners and their tournament offerings.  All one has to do is contact us any time night or day!

Players may not be aware, but the WPN offers over a million in tournament guarantees every month.  Merge Poker offers approximately four million in guarantees.  Revolution is similar with about three point eight million.  Last but not least we have Bovada who is dominating the pack with over six million dollars per month in multi table online poker tournament guarantees!  Thus, we hope that our players and clients will understand when we think people are talking crazy talk about not being able to make money in the US poker markets.  Do the math, on any given month there is over fifteen million dollars of tournament winnings up for grab.  That figure is not fully representative though.  Not all tournaments are gauranteed and our staff estimates that there is at least another five million dollars worth of MTTs without formal guaranteed payouts placed on them.  To top that off, we find that there are various online poker series run by each and every one of the aforemetnioned US friendly poker networks.  Yes, that's right since at least one, but typically two of these series are running each and every month, we can go ahead and tack another one point five million average onto the number.  This gives us a grand total of about twenty one and a half million dollars of tournaments each month.

To any player that calls themselves a professional tournament player we say, if you can not make your living each month out of a twenty million dollar plus prize pool, you may want to consider a new career outside of online poker.  The first place prize in many of these Sunday Majors is over twenty thousand dollars!  So start working on your game, and set up at least a four poker network tournament grind and make some seriously real money at poker tournaments today!
