WPN or Winning Poker Network is looking to have a huge December after a solid end to November. With the success of “The Cage” PLO and the looming $1 million guaranteed tournament and accompanying OSS IV things are just getting started.
“The Cage” hosted by Winning Poker Network had it’s latest rendition over the Thanksgiving holiday. This time Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) was the game of choice and 23 runners put together $5,000 to be entered into “The Cage.” When the predetermined 4 hours had elapsed and all the dust settled there was 7 players remaining. Those 7 players split the $115,000 amongst themselves and all of them took home more than they bought in for. The top player took home just over $31,000.
"The Cage" has become a very popular event as it provides one of the few opportunities for US players to play high stakes games. Players pay $5,000 and receive chips that have those value. The players are then randomly assigned to a table and a tournament commences for 4 hours. At the end of the 4 hours, players cashout the chips they have accumulated throughout the time. There is no reentry or late registration to allow for the most even and fair playing situation possible.
The next “Cage” event will be held on December 7th. This one will revert back to No Limit Hold’em which has been wildly popular amongst players, you can read our last post about “The Cage” here. With an overall positive result in the first PLO “Cage” event it is likely that Winning Poker Network will host another PLO “Cage” event in the near future.

Don’t be alarmed by the high buy-ins as there are a lot of satellites running into many of these great tournaments and even on the slate once the series begins. Many industry experts think that the $1,000,000 guaranteed tournament, which is also the Main Event of the series, will have an overlay and that provides an opportunity for a lot of value for players willing to buy or satellite into it. The $1,000,000 guaranteed tournament boasts a $200,000 first prize no matter how far under the guarantee they fall.
Another great series available to American players means there is going to be some life changing money up for grabs. To be a part of it you can sign up for an account at America’s Cardroom or Black Chip Poker quite easily. Are you going to be playing in the $1 Million Guaranteed Tournament?
