UPDATE - 12/16/13, 5pm EST: The issue, which was an apparent software glitch, has since been resolved. The poker client lobby now shows the correct amount of the prize pool, and the Sit & Crush promotion itself is still on as a monthly race.
The Winning Poker Network has seemingly cut short their new "Sit and Crush" sit-n-go promotion mid-month after players reported seeing the prize pool graphic reset in their poker clients early Monday morning.
ProfRB.com is scouring the internet and its sources to try to ascertain what precisely happened. As we've reported previously, the "Sit and Crush" promotion was supposed to be a monthly race.
The original December race pool was seeded with $25,000 and had grown based on the promotion's generation of rake. However, a screenshot shows that the pool has been reset to below $10,000.
One player on the popular Twoplustwo poker forum noted that he "probably ended up finishing third" in the race, which began on December 1st. This could mean that the promotion was not ended accidently or via a technical difficulty. However, this is not yet confirmed.
From our article on November 30th, which was based on an email from WPN partner room ACR Poker and information provided by a WPN representative:
START | FINISH TIMES: Each SNG race is one calendar month long and begins on the first day of every month at 12am. Every SNG race finishes the last day of every month at 11:59pm. This will begin on December 1st, 2013 at 12am and will be implemented each month moving forward.
This is a developing story and we will provide updates as soon as we get them.
