The 2025 Bitcoin Poker Championship (BPC) is ready to begin at SwCPoker on Nov. 14. It will run through Nov. 23 and consist of 55 events with guaranteed prizes in excess of 1.1 BTC.

Before we describe the Bitcoin Poker Championship in detail, it's critical that we go over the way SwC Poker works because it's a bit different from other online poker rooms. At SwC, all deposits, gameplay, and cashouts are denominated in bitcoins. Each chip is equal to one-millionth of a bitcoin (one μBTC). At current rates, this means that one SwCPoker chip is worth roughly $0.10.

The buyins for the 55 series events range from 100 μBTC (about $10) up to 5,000 μBTC (around $500). The guarantees on each tournament run from 4,000 chips (approximately $400) to 125,000 chips (close to $12,500).
Clearly, these figures are modest when compared to some of the larger online poker tournament series, like the OSS at ACR Poker or the Black Diamond Poker Open at Ignition. However, the schedule is small enough that a player could realistically play every event without having to fork over hundreds of thousands of dollars, which cannot be said of the most well-known internet poker tourney series. Also, field sizes will be more reasonable, leading to shorter tournaments.
Weekdays feature five or six tournaments starting around noon ET with the last MTT of the day generally taking place around 9 p.m. ET. On weekends, there are a few more events, and the latest of them don't begin until midnight.
Rebuys and add-ons are mostly not permitted in these tourneys; however, you can usually re-enter at least twice, and some events allow unlimited re-entry. As far as gaming variety goes, there's a ton of it as you're not restricted to big-bet flop games like at most other internet poker sites. Rather, you can look forward to HORSE, draw games, and mixed games, in addition to the familiar Hold'em and PLO contests that you would expect.

If you're too busy to grind through the entire lineup of Bitcoin Poker Championship events, then you still might have time for a few of them. We've gone through the schedule and identified some of the most intriguing entries:
Sunday, Nov. 16, 9 p.m. ET; BPC #18, 100 buyin; The Whale PLO PKO (Unlimited RE); 5,000 GTD
There are several interesting aspects to this event. The small buyin, worth about $10, and the fact that there are unlimited re-entries means that the action should be quite loose. Throw the progressive bounties into the mix, and we could really see some wild and aggressive play. This promises to be one of the most fun tournaments in the series.
Sunday, Nov. 18, 6 p.m. ET; BPC #26, 500 buyin; NL Hold'em/PL Omaha Mix (4 RE); 15,000 GTD
Keeping with one of the themes of SwCPoker, this event consists of alternating rounds of NLHE and PLO. This isn't one of the more unusual mixes in the site's bag of tricks, but the fact that these are the two most popular poker variants almost ensures that this tourney will attract a bustling field.
Sunday, Nov. 23, 3 p.m. ET; BPC #51, 5,000 buyin; 9-game Championship Event (2 RE); 50,000 GTD
With the highest buyin of the series, 5,000 chips (about $500), this one is certain to appeal to the high rollers out there. With a rotation of 9 games, you'll have to prove yourself adept in multiple forms of poker if you wish to secure a high finish in this competition. There are only two re-entries allowed, so make each one count!
Sunday, Nov. 23, 7 p.m. ET; BPC #54, 2,000 buyin; 2025 BPC Championship Event (4 RE); 125,000 GTD
This is the Main Event of the entire series. As is typical of championship events in poker series, this one is held in NL Texas Hold'em format. There's 125,000 chips ($12,500) up for grabs: the highest guarantee in the series. It's therefore definitely worth your while if you like Bitcoin and poker.

There are two separate leaderboards running for the BPC this year. There's an overall leaderboard that includes all events as well as another leaderboard for tournaments in which at least one non-NLHE game is played.
The formula for earning leaderboard points in the same in both tournaments:
Leaderboard Points = 10 x (√Field/√Finish) x (1 + Log (Buyin))
Only results that are in-the-money generate leaderboard points. Anyone who registers for a series tournament before it begins will receive 1.25x leaderboard points for that tourney.
The top 10 on the overall series leaderboard will receive the following prizes:
Meanwhile, the top 5 in the non-Hold'em leaderboard will be rewarded as follows:
In addition, the top 32 players on the overall series leaderboard qualify for a special BPC freeroll that will take place on Nov. 24.

SwCPoker has opened several pools for registration in the poker lobby. These pools are winner-takes-all and are based upon final BPC leaderboard position. There's no rake taken from these pools – the entire prize funds will be paid out to the eventual winner.
There are leaderboard pools priced at 500 chips, 3,000 chips, and 10,000 chips based upon the results of the overall series leaderboard. There are also pools priced at 500 and 5,000 chips for the non-NLH event leaderboard. You can enter any number of these pools simultaneously.

SwC is giving away five seats to BPC # 3. This event takes place Friday, Dec. 14 and is called “The MAMMOTH NLH.” It features unlimited re-entry and a guarantee of 20,000 chips (around $2,000). The buyin is 100 chips (approximately $10).
