Prepare for thrilling bitcoin action at SwCPoker with the 2025 Bitcoin Series of Poker (BSOP). This series, running from June 20 to July 13, will be SwC's biggest series ever with 2.5 bitcoins in guaranteed prizes.
At SwCPoker, which is an offshoot of Seals With Clubs, the first Bitcoin poker site in the world, all gameplay and cashier functions are conducted using bitcoins. Each chip is equal to one-millionth of a bitcoin or 1 μBTC. At current market rates, this means that each SwCPoker chip is worth roughly $0.10.
There are a total of 114 events throughout the series with buyins between 100 and 5,000 μBTC. Most of the events involve Texas Hold'em of some form, but there are 36 non-Hold'em events, including PLO and 5 Card PLO, 2 – 7 Single Draw, HORSE, and 12-Game Mix. There are between three and six events each day of the series, starting between noon and 10 p.m. ET.
With more than a hundred MTTs on the schedule, it might be a challenge to play them all. We've taken the opportunity to highlight some of the most interesting of them below to help you narrow down your choices.
BSOP #3; Friday, June 20, 9 p.m. ET; 100 μBTC The Whopper NLH; 20,000 μBTC GTD
The Whopper has the smallest buyin on the lineup at just 100 chips, so it's a fine option for getting the series started in a fun and easygoing way. The guaranteed amount implies 200 entrants, which, believe it or not, counts as a large field for SwCPoker.
BSOP #78; Sunday, July 6, 3 p.m. ET; 5,000 μBTC 9-Game BTC Poker Players Championship; 50,000 μBTC GTD
With a high buyin and nine formats of poker included, the Poker Players Championship may be a truer test of skill than the Main Event. We don't expect a large field for this event, so it will be a real contest of skill among just a few of the cognoscenti.
BSOP #98; Thursday, July 10, 6 p.m. ET; 1,000 μBTC PL 2-3-4-5-6 Card Mix; 15,000 μBTC GTD
This tourney has an unusual structure of alternating rounds of PL Hold'em, PL Pineapple, PL Omaha, 5 Card Omaha, and 6 Card Omaha. Pineapple especially is hard to find in major tournament series, so fans of the variant would do well to join this one.
BSOP #107; Saturday, July 12, 5 p.m. ET; 2,000 μBTC PL Omaha Championship; 40,000 μBTC GTD
This is for the four card poker lovers out there. Because it's held the day before the NLH BSOP series Main Event, you should be able to play this one late into the night and still be in fine shape for the series conclusion the next day.
BSOP #113; Sunday, July 13, 7 p.m. ET; 2,000 μBTC BSOP Main Event; 150,000 μBTC GTD
The most important tournament on the roster and the culmination of the series, the Main Event also has the largest guarantee of 150,000 chips. Five re-entries are permitted, so even if you strike out in your first few attempts, you can get right back into the action.
SwC is holding two leaderboards: one for which all events count and another for non-NLH events. Points are awarded for in-the-money finishes according to the following formula:
10 * (√Field Size/√Finish) * (1 + Log (buyin))
In addition, those who register for a tournament before it begins get a 1.25 x multiplier on their points.
The top 10 on the overall leaderboard win the following prizes:
In the non-NLH leaderboard, which includes any event with at least some rounds that are not Hold'em, the prizes are as follows:
There are a number of pools in the SwCPoker lobby that you can join that pertain to the BSOP series. These pools have buyins ranging from 500 chips to 5,000 chips and are winner-takes-all.
You can enter pools related to leaderboard points, number of bracelets won, and first to win a bracelet. There's no rake taken, so 100% of the funds from each pool are paid out to the eventual winner.
If you don't have an SwCPoker account, then you can't enjoy the BSOP festivities. Fortunately, it's easy to join. Click below to get started:
