Carbon OPS Starts May 3rd!

Carbon Poker Logo  Carbon Poker is looking to rebuild some trust with players by hosting their quarterly tournament series Carbon OPS.  This rendition of the popular tournament series is going to bigger than any in some time with over $2.3 million guaranteed across the myriad of events with buy-ins for all levels of players!

Carbon OPS Slated to Begin May 3rd

Carbon Poker has had a pretty rough few months, but they are hoping that this latest tournament series will turn that around a little bit. The Carbon OPS, formerly the Poker Maximus Series, has been a stalwart on the schedule for a few years now and it is met with positive reactions most times, and by increasing the guarantee on this series of events, it is likely to be yet again another success.  The series, which guarantees $2.3 million, runs from May 3rd through May 17th and boasts 76 events.  The buy-ins like always cater to a wide range of players.

Update on Cashouts

Carbon Poker has made strides the past couple of weeks in terms of cleaning out some of the backlog of owed checks and Skrill withdraws.  Last week saw them catch up with almost all Skrill withdraws from 2 weeks or more and checks from 8 or more weeks.  While these wait times are a bit longer than average, players should feel reassured that payouts are happening again, especially to players from Europe and Canada in a timely manner.  Indications are that they should be able to get back to the 3-5 week stated check waiting time soon, but no official time table has been laid out.

Series Overview

Despite the increased guarantee to the series overall, there is not a shortage of buy-ins for players with smaller bankrolls.  The series features 12 $11 buy-in tournaments all with at least $10,000 guaranteed and many with a much higher guarantee, including the $11 Main Event with its $40,000 guaranteed prize pool. The series features 3 $530 events, 21 $215 events and 9 $109 events for the higher stakes players.  While the lower buy-in events are all NLHE, the higher buy-in events include FL HORSE, PLO, PLO H/L and NLHE.   Missing from this versions schedule is any kind of FLHE event which had been a fixture on previous schedules since the beginning of Poker Maximus and into the rebranding to Carbon OPS.  Playing do have the option of FL HORSE though (something Full Tilt Poker players don’t even have anymore.)

The final day of the Carbon OPS is speculator as usual with Main Events at the major buy-in levels present.  In total there is $475,000 worth of prizes up for grabs across the 5 Main Events, and another $50,000 when you include the second chance event.  The final day’s schedule looks like this:

Carbon OPS Main Event Schedule

There is also a very healthy amount of satellites to the Main Events which is something that players have become used to while playing on the network.  Every day Carbon Poker has 4 satellites that guarantee at least 3 seats to every Main Event.  Check out the client to see the available tournaments starting at 20:00 and 20:30 daily.

Summary

Carbon Poker has had a rough go of it lately and that has caused a bit of confidence the people have to be shaken, but with the apparent righting of the ship, the talk of their demise might have been greatly exaggerated by some.  However, with the hesitation of some players to put more money on Carbon Poker this could be a good time to take advantage of some serious value in less reg-infested fields.  The risk is rather small that you won’t get paid, but some players are going to think it is unreasonably high, this means increased value from overlays and softer fields.  Do you plan on playing the Carbon OPS?  Tell us on Twitter and Facebook!
