Using MatchPay at Bovada: Great Idea or Not?

MatchPay is a third-party option offered through Bovada (and several other sites) that allows users to deposit and withdraw. As the name MatchPay implies, the system essentially matches people up so that one user is withdrawing the same amount another user is depositing. This is an oversimplification, but we will dive deeper into the details later in the article.

MatchPay is often confusing, and we have heard from numerous customers with complaints regarding MatchPay and a deposit or withdrawal gone wrong. We are here to help you understand how to safely use MatchPay, the risks, and more.

What is MatchPay?

MatchPay is a peer-to-peer trading platform most used by players at offshore online gambling sites, including Bovada, Slots.lv, Ignition, and Cafe Casino.

How MatchPay works

MatchPay enables users to buy or sell funds (like casino or poker account credits) directly with other players. As a result, MatchPay enables deposits and withdrawals utilizing popular payment apps like Venmo, Cash App, or Apple Pay.

How Does MatchPay Actually Work?

Users are essentially buying and selling credits to these online casino sites. If you want to deposit, you will be sending another user the funds through one of the selected payment apps. The user will be sending you the casino funds or credits through MatchPay and the gambling website.

If you are withdrawing, the process is reversed. You will be sending another user your casino funds or credits and the user will send your funds through the selected payment app.

How To Use MatchPay with Bovada

MatchPay is automatically integrated with certain online gambling providers, including Bovada, Ignition, Slots.lv, and CafeCasino. If using MatchPay is an option at your preferred casino, like at Bovada, then you will see the MatchPay option within the site listed under deposit methods in the cashier.

Upon clicking the MatchPay option on the Bovada site, you will be brought over to the MatchPay platform to create an account. It will require an email and ask for a confirmation code from that email.

After your account is established, you will see your username, and MatchPay will ask you to select the amount you are looking to trade (deposit or withdraw). Enter your preferred amount now. It should be noted that lower amounts for even numbers will be easiest to match in a trade. We would suggest simple increments like $20, $50, $100, $200, and $500.

Once the amount has been selected, you will see a list of various payment methods that you can activate to accept trades and matches on MatchPay. The more of these payment methods that you are familiar with and can activate and use, the higher your chances of success will be.

After you have activated your payment methods, it is time to execute the trade and try to find a match. If a match is not found, MatchPay may suggest slightly different amounts that are waiting on opposing trades. You will receive an alert immediately when a match is found. You will then have 5-7 minutes to confirm the match and send the funds.

Next, the other party should finalize their side of the trade. Not to worry; this is where MatchPay and the gambling site come into play and police these transactions on both sides. If you are depositing, funds will be credited to your Bovada account. If you are withdrawing, your funds will come to the agreed-upon payment app (like CashApp or Venmo).

One additional important step remains in the process. Once you have received your funds, you must confirm with MatchPay or the other party as soon as possible to ensure a smooth and successful trade.

Is MatchPay safe?

This question is a bit murky. MatchPay as a company is reputable and secure. With that being said, the system is flawed, and many duplicitous folks use MatchPay to attempt to steal from others.

The overwhelming majority of the time, these situations are either easily rectified or immediately halted by Bovada or MatchPay, and everything is fine. Unfortunately, that one rare time can bring about frustrating situations and potential loss of funds.

Alternatively, you can reach out via live chat through the MatchPay site at any time. This is the quickest and most effective way to get help with any specific issues.

It is also important to note that during all trades the chat feature is easily accessible if you are having any problems with your trade or communicating with the other party. Only communicate within the MatchPay site window. Never contact any users outside of the MatchPay platform.

Other Suggested Deposit and Withdrawal Methods

Although MatchPay can be fairly simple and fast, it does have inherent risk and occasional issues related to attempted scams. As such, MatchPay is NOT our preferred method for depositing or withdrawing at any online poker site or casino.

MatchPay is best used for small transactions in our opinion. It is fairly safe and effective, but it is not ideal when compared to cryptocurrency options.

Cryptocurrency is by far the safest, cheapest, and most secure way to move funds to or from any gambling account online.
