Winter Series Info

Each day of the series, which is part of the CoinPoker Holiday Extravaganza, features between 12 and 30 events with the two Sundays within the series timeframe having more tournaments than the other days. The buyins range from ₮1 to ₮5,000, giving individuals of all bankroll statuses the opportunity to participate, with guarantees of between ₮100 and ₮125,000 apiece.

The games on the roster are NL Hold'em and PL Omaha. 5 Card PL Omaha is absent from the Winter Series despite its presence in previous tourney series and in the cash game lobby. Nevertheless, variety in the tournament schedule is ensured through a wide array of formats, including progressive knockouts, deepstacks, and hyperturbos.

There will be plenty of opportunities to win seats into the series tourneys via satellites, and many of them are extremely inexpensive. For instance, there's a “Centroll” – an MTT with a buyin of just ₮0.01 – on Jan. 6 that awards 40 x ₮2 seats to WS #9-M running later the same day.

Main Events

There are four separate Main Events in the series with buyins of ₮5, ₮50, ₮500 and ₮5,000. They're designated events #43-L, #43-M, #43-H, and #43-S with ₮1,500, ₮7,500, ₮75,000 and ₮125,000 guaranteed respectively.

These Mains will start at 2:05 p.m. ET (7:05 GMT) on Sunday, Jan. 12. Ten minutes later, four PLO Main Events will begin with buyins of ₮2, ₮25, ₮200, and ₮2,000 with corresponding guarantees of ₮200, ₮1,000, ₮10,000, and ₮50,000.

155 tournaments over eight days is a bit much especially if you're a casual or part-time poker player. Therefore, we've taken the liberty of identifying a few events on the schedule that appear especially interesting and that you may wish to keep an eye on:

Event #5-S, Monday, Jan. 5, 7:05 p.m. GMT, ₮5,000 Nemesis, ₮125,000 Guaranteed
Apart from the Main Events, this is the tourney with the highest guarantee in all the Winter Series. It runs on the first day of the series no less, so if you're eager to pit yourself against your peers in high-stakes poker action, then this is one you'll definitely not want to miss.

Event #26-M, Thursday, Jan. 9, 7:05 p.m. GMT, ₮50 Phoenix PKO, ₮7,500 Guaranteed
This tournament features the increasingly popular Progressive Knockout format. There's a unique twist though: rather than the standard 50%, a full 70% of each buyin will go toward the bounty pool. This gives you extra incentive to knock your adversaries out of the action!

Event #40-H, Sunday, Jan. 12, 4:05 p.m. GMT, ₮200 Sunday Warmup, ₮30,000 Guaranteed
As you wait for the Main Events to begin, why not jump into the Sunday Warmup for $200? There's a decent $30,000 up for grabs, and this should get your competitive juices flowing as you contemplate the bigger prizes you intend to take down later in the day.

$10,000 Leaderboard

Every tournament within the Winter Series will contribute points toward a $10,000 series leaderboard. The formula for points earned in any particular MTT is as follows:

Points = 10 * (√# Players / √Place) * (1 + LOG (Buyin + 0.25))

In addition, everyone who registers before a tournament begins will receive a 10% bonus on leaderboard points. Those who pay the tournament fee (or as Coin Poker calls it, “the Community Contribution”) in CHP token will receive 50% more points.

At the end of the series, the top 20 competitors will receive free tournament tickets for the following amounts:
