Moneymaker May-Hem Overview
To qualify, you need to enter and reach the final table of any $109 Sunday Moneymaker tourney during May. This is a tournament with $300,000 guaranteed that takes place at 1:05 p.m. ET every Sunday, and on the final Sunday of a month, the guaranteed prize pool increases to $400,000. If a $109 investment is too steep, you can qualify for the Sunday Moneymaker via a path of satellites throughout the week that includes zero-cost freerolls.
All the final tablists from Sunday Moneymaker tournaments in May will convene on June 1 at 4 p.m. ET to play out the Final Sit & Go Showdown. The winner will receive a $10,00 Main Event Seat, $5,000 in cash, and a meeting with Chris Moneymaker at the Horseshoe Hotel in Las Vegas. Second place is good for 15 tickets to the Sunday Moneymaker (a $1,635 value), and third place gets five Sunday Moneymaker tickets.
Sunday Moneymaker Satellites
As we've already mentioned, there are ways of earning your $109 Sunday Moneymaker entry for less. For the $300,000 guaranteed Sunday Moneymaker, you can join in an $11 Mega Satellite on Sunday at 10:05 a.m. ET with 40 seats guaranteed. There are qualifiers into the Mega, including Micro Hyper Sats with buyins of $1.05 as well as freerolls.
For the $400,000 guaranteed version that runs on the final Sunday of each month, the $11 Mega guarantees 50 seats rather than 40. In addition, there's also a $22 buy-in Mega Satellite on Sunday at 10:05 a.m. ET that guarantees 75 seats. Moreover, Micro Hyper Sats at $1.05 and $2.10 run throughout the week along with freeroll satellites.
About Chris Moneymaker
One of the highlights of this promotion is the opportunity to meet up with Chris Moneymaker in Las Vegas. You'll be able to talk strategy with him, take a few pictures, and generally chat with him about poker. If you're unfamiliar with who Chris is (been living under a rock for a couple decades?), we'll go over a brief summary of his poker resume.
Moneymaker catapulted to fame in 2003 when he won the World Series of Poker Main Event for $2.5 million: the largest poker tournament prize ever awarded at that time. The way he did it was unusual too because he qualified through a low-cost online satellite tournament for a total investment of less than $100. This was the first time anyone had entered the Main Event through such a newfangled mechanism and actually won.

Moneymaker proved not to be a one-trick pony either. Among his other big tourney scores were a fifth-place finish at the Triton Poker series $262,000 Main Event in London in August 2023, good for $2 million, and a victory in the $26,500 Triton Montenegro 8-Handed NLHE event in May 2024, worth more than $900,000. In total, Chris has won $8.2+ million in live poker tournaments.
Though he has represented other poker sites in the past, Chris signed with Americas Cardroom (now ACRPoker) in 2021 and has been representing them ever since. Moneymaker's duties as an ACR Pro have included providing live commentary for live streams of major tournaments, representing the site at premier poker festivals, and, of course, the occasional meet-and-greet with enthusiastic fans.
