Tournament Preview Extravaganza Feb. 20th-22nd!

ProfessionalRakeback.com Logo  Tournament series available to those in the US have been pretty good up until this point, but they have always left a little bit to be desired.  That is changing this weekend as the three largest US facing networks all have big tournament series going on and thus, huge prizes for everyone to take advantage of. Even if you aren’t an American player, this is something you should take note of, as some tournaments are the biggest available on any site in the world except Pokerstars!

Big Weekend for Tournament Players

This weekend features major tournaments on Bodog Network, Merge Network and Winning Poker network.  Unlike most times, you can’t just assume the largest network is going to have the best tournaments.  We will break down the schedules each site is offering and what tournaments are can’t miss additions to your weekly schedule.

Merge Network

Merge Network, with Carbon Poker as its flagship, has their most recent Online Poker Series (OPS) wrapping up this weekend.  Normally this would land them at the top of any list of can’t miss tournaments.  This weekend is an exception though and you will see why in our next section.  With that being said though, Carbon Poker is offering up a lot of great value and a lot of variety from tournaments to choose from.  It is the most diverse set of tournaments that any network is offering this weekend, so players who enjoy different types of non-NLHE events should strongly consider playing.

Merge Network has 11 tournaments scheduled from Friday through Sunday, which in itself isn’t that impressive, but they have 5 Main Events and a Last Chance scheduled to happen on Sunday.  The Main Events are at all the major buy-in levels players ($11, $33, $109, $215 and $530.)  The smallest guarantee is $40,000 which means ever level is going to be competing for a pretty healthy first prize, though first prizes have not been guaranteed like other sites do sometimes.

Winning Poker Network

Winning Poker Network, made up of America’s Cardroom, Black Chip Poker, PokerHost, True Poker and Ya Poker, is the smallest of the networks we have looked at so far, so you know they must be pulling off something large if they are going to win the award for best tournament schedule on such a stacked weekend.  They do not disappoint, even if you aren’t going to be able to play on any day except Sunday.

The mammoth schedule consists of 20 tournaments starting at $1.10 and going up.  The crown jewel of the tournament schedule though is the $1,000,000 guaranteed $540 buy-in special at 3:00pm eastern time on Sunday.  They also have a $300,000 2nd chance event which is the second biggest tournament schedule for the weekend and a $50,000 warm up event combined with everything else they are offering.

Bodog Poker Network

Bodog Poker Network, comprising of Bodog, Bodog888 and Bovada are not known for being second or third in any kind of standings when it comes to poker offerings, but this weekend is a major exception for the 4th largest site in the world.  While other networks are wrapping up their series’, Bovada is just getting warmed up with its series.  The games are not any less impressive though as there are 14 tournaments spread over the three day weekend with every guarantee being over $1,000 and many being over that.  Also, 4 different games are also being spread, so everyone can find a bit of what they are looking for.  So while it’s a very impressive schedule with a lot of money up for grabs, it still is much smaller than what other US-friendly sites are offering up.
