PLO cash game world Championship @ CoinPoker Oct. 6 - Nov. 2

CoinPoker Logo

Pot Limit Omaha is a popular and growing form of poker, but it sometimes gets short shrift when it comes to online specials and promotions especially when compared to its big brother, No Limit Texas Hold'em. However, Coin Poker is bucking this trend by running the PLO Cash Game World Championship (CGWC) from Oct. 6 to Nov. 2 with more than $55,000 in prizes.

The PLO Cash Game World Championship comes to CoinPoker Oct. 6 – Nov. 2

About the Championship

Blue Informational Button

The contest runs at specially designated PLO CGWC tables, which are all 100bb buy-in, 6-max Pot Limit Omaha games. There are two stake levels involved: $2.50/$5 and $10/$20. Antes are 0.17bb per player, which works out to 1bb exactly when the tables have a full complement of six players. All of these tables are RAKE-FREE.

In order to make the games more interesting, the winner of each pot will automatically reveal their hole cards. Any heads-up hands that happen to be played at these 6-max tables will be excluded from any leaderboard prizes.

Leaderboard and Prizes

Winners' Podium

The leaderboard is not based on actual winnings but on EV-adjusted winnings. That is, the value of every all-in hand will be portioned out to the players involved according to their equity. 1 EV BB is worth 1 leaderboard point at $2.50/$5 and 2.5 points at $10/$20.

At the end of the PLO Cash Game World Championship, the top five players who have played at least 20,000 non-heads-up hands on the PLO CGWC tables will be awarded the following prizes:

  • 1st: $15,000 Rolex
  • 2nd: $5,000 Cash
  • 3rd: $4,000 Cash
  • 4th: $3,000 Cash
  • 5th: $2,000 Cash

Weekly VIP Game

Calendar

During the Championship, there will be a seven-handed VIP Game every Sunday. The roster will consist of five regular players and two invited VIPs. Each of the five players who qualify will receive $1,000 each to participate in the game. One seat is awarded for each of the following:

  • Coolest hand played
  • Biggest money loser
  • Player the most below $EV
  • Most hands played
  • Highest VPIP at 6-handed play (2,000 hand minimum)

These categories consider hands played from the Saturday-through-Friday period that just ended. Hands played during the previous VIP Game do not count. In order to submit hands for the “Coolest hand played,” one must join the PLO Players Union Discord and post the hand ID, and the winner will be determined by weekly vote.

Cards + Chips

In order to join the PLO Cash Game World Championship and have the opportunity to contend for one of the top prizes, you must have a valid account at CoinPoker. Heck, even if you don't think your volume will be enough to win anything extra, just the ability to play PLO without paying any rake is nothing to sneeze at.

If you've yet to create a CoinPoker account, then you can do so without hassle. You'll qualify for a 150% up to $2,000 bonus on your first deposit. Playing in the CGWC won't help you clear your bonus because the tables don't take any rake, but you can clear it in other cash games or tournaments. Click below to sign up for CoinPoker:
