About the Series

Blue Info Graphic

The Super Millions Poker Open consists of a whopping 175 events that take place every day over a four-week period. Keep in mind that the timing used for this tournament schedule is Eastern Standard.

The SMPO will feature some of the tournaments you would otherwise see scheduled during a normal week; however, the guarantees will be increased. The Sunday Major, for example, will still feature as part of the series, but will be boosted by somewhat of a shakeup.

The SMPO Special $250,000 GTD, up from the usual $150,000 GTD but at the same $150 + $12 price, will be joined by an SMPO Sunday High Roller $200,000 GTD event, which doubles the normal $100,000 guarantee at the same $300 + $25 buyin. These will take place every Sunday during the Series, occurring on July 19 and 26, and Aug. 2, 9, and 16.

Other events within the Series will be present with buy-ins running between $5.50 and $1,055, allowing everyone to get a handle on the SMPO. Perhaps the most important of them are the Main Event and the Mini Main Event, both scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 16.

The Mini Main Event, #159 on the schedule, begins at 3:20 p.m. and costs $100 + $9 to enter. It will award a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000. The Main Event starts two hours later and has a buyin of $425 + $25. The Main Event guarantees a whopping $500,000.

Other interesting events in the 2020 Super Millions Poker Open include:

  • July 25 5:20 p.m., #44, $125 + $10, $25 KO Ante-Up $15K GTD
  • July 28 10:00 p.m., #63, $100 + $9, Heads-Up $10K GTD
  • Aug. 3 7:40 p.m., #92, $75 + $7, PLO $25 KO Unlimited Re-Entry $20K GTD
  • Aug. 12, 10:00 p.m., #142, $100 + $9, LHE Turbo $10K GTD
  • Aug. 18 7:40 p.m., #170, $1,000 + $55, Super Duper High Roller $150K GTD

Satellites Available

Satellites

If you are keen to participate in some of the bigger SMPO tournaments but balk at the high cost of entry, then you can attempt to win inexpensive seats in satellites. These qualifiers have already begun to appear in the poker lobby, and they allow you to earn entry into various SMPO events for but a fraction of the normal cost.

There are six-player SNGs that cost $30 + $3 and pay out in $162 tickets to the SMPO Special $250,000 Guaranteed tourneys that replace the normal Sunday major. Most of the satties for the SMPO are MTTs though. They start as low as $1 and go up to $109.

Some of these tournaments award tickets that can be used for any SMPO event of the designated buyin amount. Others are specific to particular tournaments. Tickets must be used for a valid tournament and cannot be exchanged for cash.
