ACR Poker Debuts New BLITZ Beast Leaderboard
Since 2012, cash game players at ACR Poker have enjoyed getting weekly rewards from The Beast leaderboard. Now the fun and excitement is doubled because ACR has created a Blitz Beast specifically for fans of the fast-fold Blitz Poker games. The first week of the Blitz Beast began on Saturday, Oct. 11th.
Schedule
Both the normal Beast leaderboard and the Blitz Beast run in tandem with each earning period beginning early Saturday at midnight and running through the following Friday. Hands played in Blitz games no longer count toward the original Beast leaderboard ever since the new Blitz Beast went live. The top finishers each week receive their prizes on the following Monday.
Earning Points
Points toward the Blitz Beast are earned based upon the amount of rake paid. In every Blitz hand, for each $0.06 raked, $0.02 of the rake is diverted toward the Blitz Beast up to a maximum of $0.24 toward the leaderboard. For every $0.02 thus contributed, an individual receives 1 point on the leaderboard.
It's important to note that there's no extra rake taken to fund the Blitz Beast. A portion of the normal rake (a reasonable 5% up to $3) is instead used to fund the Blitz Beast pool.
There are leaderboards on ACR's website that are updated in real time. Therefore, you can easily check your position in the Blitz Beast.

At the end of each qualifying period, those at the top of leaderboard receive cash prizes and/or satellite tournament entries. Three-quarters of the total Beast pool is devoted to the cash prizes while the remaining quarter goes toward the tourney tickets. To initially seed the Beast Blitz, ACR Poker has added $20,000 of its own funds.
Cash Prizes
The cash prizes available are $500, $250, $125, $50. For every $3,500 in the cash prize pool, ACR will award 1 x $500 prize, 2 x $250 payouts, 5 x $125 prizes, and 20 x $50. This leaves $875 remaining, which goes toward seeding the next week's prize pool.
Any excess funds beyond $3,500 increments is used to upgrade the prizes of the top placers in each payout tier. For example, if there's $175 extra, the top $250 prize might increase to $300, the leading $125 winner might instead get $200, and highest-placing $50 finisher might see their payout bumped up to $100.
Satellite Tourney Entries
The calculation for the satellite entries is more straightforward. The total money available is divided by the buyin of the tournament, and that many players receive a ticket.
The tournament ticket granted to the winners is currently a $95 satellite to the WSOP Paradise live poker festival, but this will change throughout the year depending on the schedule of upcoming tourneys.
What Games Count?
All Blitz Poker hands qualify for the Blitz Beast. There are no requirements as far as number of players dealt in or the stakes at which a hand is played.
