The Sin City Vegas Series will run at BetOnline and the rest of the Chico Poker Network from Sunday, June 1st through Sunday, June 8th. There's $975,000 in guaranteed prize money across a total of 142 tournaments. In addition, the site is adding $5,000 in leaderboard prizes.
The events in the Sin City Vegas Series aren't numbered as is traditionally the case for online poker tournament series, but you can easily identify the series tourneys because they're shown in red in the poker lobby.
Buyins range from $2.20 to $530, so there's something for players of every bankroll level. There's a diverse range of poker variants available too, including No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha/8, 5 Card PLO, Razz, and Stud/8. Among the formats on offer are Progressive Knockouts, Bomb Pots, and Mystery Bounties.
Every day of the series will feature 19 tournaments except for the two Sundays, which have only 14 events apiece. Starting times range from 1 p.m. ET to 10:40 p.m. ET.
You'd be hard pressed to participate in all 142 events on the roster even if you have no other commitments for your time. Therefore, we've gone ahead and singled a few of the MTTs out as ones that you might want to keep an eye on:
The largest tournament on the Sin City Poker Series schedule is a $250,000 guaranteed NLHE event, which costs $215 to enter. This implied as expected field size of at least 1,250, so this will be the traditional big-field, big-money poker tourney experience.
The highest buyin in the lineup and the second-highest guarantee, this one is for the high rollers in the room. The small field should make for a rapidly concluding tournament, so you won't necessarily have to spend too much time on this one.
It's pretty rare to find any tournaments for Stud/8 or related variants these days, so anyone who's a fan of seven card action ought to check these out. They're running every day of the series. There's a similar tournament for Razz three hours later every day.
The combination of bomb pots, five cards, and mystery knock-outs means that the action should come fast and heavy in this tournament, which takes place every day of the series. For micro-stakes fans, there's another similar tourney every day twenty minutes later.
BetOnline is sweetening the pot a bit with value that goes beyond just the guaranteed prize pools. There's also a series leaderboard with $5,000 in prizes. The prize distribution and leaderboard points formulas have not yet been released, but they will likely be viewable in the poker client in the “Contests” section.
Additionally, there will be a $1,000 freeroll tournament every day during the Sin City Vegas Series. Finally, there will be random cash drops at All-in or Fold tables during the series with $1,500 in prizes to be distributed.
In order to partake in the Sin City Vegas Series, you must have an account at a participating Chico Poker Network site. We recommend BetOnline as the flagship brand of this network. When you make a deposit, you'll get a 100% up to $1,000 poker bonus.
