Equity Poker Network is making some big changes to its tournament schedule that will enhance the offerings to lower stakes players, something lacking in the American market. Players will now have the opportunity to win their share of over $12,500 in guarantees on a nightly basis.
Equity Poker Network, which Full Flush poker is the flagship site for, has unveiled a new tournament schedule that focuses extensively on micro and small limit tournament players. This new schedule has over $12,500 in guaranteed prizes every night and offers tournaments for pretty much everyone on any time zone or work schedule. This new schedule encapsulates the recreational player model they have been pursuing.
The nightly schedule that takes effect immediately and will run 7 nights a week looks like this:
* $1000 GTD HAPPY HOUR at 6:00pm ET ($4.00 + $0.40 Buy-in)
* $4000 GTD NIGHTLY AMERICAN at 8:00pm ET ($5.50 + $0.55 Buy-in)
* $500 GTD ONE DOLLAR SPECIAL at 9:00pm ET ($1.00 + $0.10 Buy-in)
* $3000 GTD NIGHTLY COOLER at 9:30pm ET ($11.50 + $1.15 Buy-in)
* $2000 GTD LATE NIGHT TURBO at 10:30pm ET ($3.50 + $0.35 Buy-in)
* $1500 GTD AFTER HOURS at MIDNIGHT ET ($4.50 + $0.45 Buy-in)
The schedule offers some pretty big guarantees, especially for a site this size and the buy-ins of the tournaments. That means that players are most likely going to be able to take advantage of some overlays. Players shouldn’t worry about Equity Poker Network dropping those guarantees though, because they have shown a desire to keep shooting for bigger tournaments guarantees even if they overlay. This growth model, while different than most sites, is something they feel strongly about. That tournament growth models has them raise the guarantee of a tournament after it reaches the previous mark, thus ensuring overlays, but growth as well, they hope.
These scheduled nightly tournaments are not the only nightly tournaments being offered as Equity Poker Network will also be offering $200 guaranteed turbo rebuy/add-on tournaments at 7PM ET, 10PM ET and Midnight ET. These tournaments will offer a $1.50 + 0.15 buy-in and since it is a rebuy and add-on they will not take rake on the subsequent entries, like a re-entry tournament would. This allows players to easily get in 10 tournaments a night when combined with the above new nightly schedule.
While there isn’t anything on that list for higher stakes players, they are still going to be able to play in the Sunday Major “Big Fat $15,000” and also the new $50 + 5 $5,000 guaranteed on Wednesday nights. While this may sound scant, it’s important to remember with so many micro and small buy-in tournaments going on all the time there is going to be a lot of players taking shots at bigger tournaments either through running well and wanting to see what they can do or through satellites. This means softer tournaments for those that do keep a small roll on Full Flush Poker or another Equity Poker Network skin.
While some might be nervous about joining the Network because of the recent departures of some skins, it should be noted that Equity Poker Network is still trending upwards by over 10% on their 6-month average according to GameIntel.com, and they have rebounded after losing PokerHost and 5Dimes. Also, just two weekends ago Equity Poker Network hosted their Game of Poker Thrones tournament that had a $100,000 guarantee on it and it nearly hit the guarantee despite only a $90 buy-in and many industry insiders predicting a huge overlay. The strength of the network is readily apparent and should soothe most players’ nervousness about signing up at one of the network.
American players lack sites to play small stakes tournaments on as most sites are interested in having players who will spend more money on their site, but Full Flush Poker hosted by Equity Poker Network is giving Americans a good place to start playing micro tournaments on a nightly basis.
