From Wednesday, Nov. 18 through to Sunday, Nov. 29, the Chico Poker Network (Sportsbetting.ag, TigerGaming, and BetOnline) is playing host to the next installment of the MICRO Tournament Series. The point of this series of tournaments, as the name implies, is to cater to micro-stakes players and give them a chance to play in tourneys with sizable guaranteed prize pools. In all, there are 62 tournaments in the series with total guarantees of over $150,000.
Every day there will be a mix of tournaments with buy-ins starting at less than $1. At the other end of the spectrum, the highest-cost tourneys will only set you back $11, which should be affordable for most every player.
During the MICRO Tournament Series, there’s a wide range of tournament formats present. Freezeout tournaments are the most commonly found, and there will regularly be up to six of them every day through the duration of the series. Other tournament formats on offer include progressive knockout, rebuy/add-on, heads-up, and a few others.
Most events are of the 8-max variety with fast, 8-minute blind levels. Though the bulk of the schedule consists of No Limit Texas Hold’em Games, you will also encounter PLO and PLO/8. Texas 6+, also known as Six-Plus Hold’em, used to be offered in previous MICRO series, but it seems to be absent this time around.
From Monday through Friday during the series timeframe, there will be five tournaments per day with the earliest beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET and the final tourney of the evening kicking off at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, there are still five events, but they begin earlier in the day, at 1 p.m. On Sunday, the schedule grows to 6 MTTs, and the first of them starts at 1:00 p.m.
Frankly speaking, all 62 events in the MICRO Tournament Series are worth mentioning because of their small buy-ins and guaranteed prize pools. With that said, a few of the MTTs stick out from the rest of the crowd.
The most important tourney of the entire series is undoubtedly the Main Event. This $11 tournament begins at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, and it is event #59 on the schedule. There’s $20,000 up for grabs, so be sure to register to get your share. If you want to test your mettle in another large-field MTT, then there’s a $10,000 guaranteed for the same $11 buyin just an hour later, number 60 on the roster.
If you’re keen to try your heads-up skills, then there’s an opportunity for you to do so on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 3:00 p.m. That’s when event #54 on the schedule begins, and you can enter for $11. There’s $2,000 in prizes to be awarded. It’s a PKO, meaning that you will earn bounties for every player you eliminate, and they will get bigger and bigger the further you progress.
For split-pot poker action, check out event #26 on Sunday, Nov. 22. This is a PLO/8 event with $2,500 guaranteed and a buyin of $11.
Reload your account from Nov. 18 to 22, and type in the bonus code MICROS100 for a $50 up to $100 bonus. You must deposit at least $50 to qualify for the bonus, which releases in $5 chunks every time you generate $50 in rake. The bonus will remain active for 30 days after which time any unearned portions will disappear from your account.
If you're intrigued by the MICRO tournament series but don't yet have an account at any Chico Poker Network site, then now's the perfect time to register. You'll qualify for a 100% up to $1,000 poker welcome bonus regardless of the method you choose to fund your account with.
