While the NOSS remains accessible at other Winning Poker Network (WPN) platforms like Black Chip Poker and True Poker, the FBSS is only available at ACR Poker. And this is what makes the FBSS and ACR Poker that bit more appealing – because you can win huge money for little to no investment of your own funds at all. Over 100 tournaments make up the FBSS, and these come with $0 buy-ins for you to experience.
How Do Freebuy Tournaments Work?
It was a few years ago that ACR Poker created a new type of tournament, allowing players to enter at no cost but still compete for their share of real money. Freebuys combine both freerolls and buy-in poker tournaments, which is where they get their name from.
Every player who registers for a Freebuy tournament will receive a starting chip stack for free. It is then up to you how to approach the tournament bankroll-wise. You can either fight it out with just your initial chips or choose to pay to rebuy and/or add-on. The price for doing this is clearly stated before you proceed with rebuys or add-ons.
Players quite instantly loved the idea, and this led to the creation of the Freebuy Super Series. In this FBSS, the rebuys and add-ons run from $0.10 up to $20 each. There is, however, no buy-in or fee charged to enter to Freebuy tournaments. So you essentially join without paying anything and get the opportunity to finish in a prime position and win your share of the guaranteed prize pool.
$350,000 in Guarantees up for Grabs
The NOSS series comes with a total of 200 micro-stakes tournaments for you to enter, and there is a total guarantee of $250,000 attached to these events. When combined with the $100,000 guarantee of the FBSS, players have their chance to claim their share of a total of $350,000 at ACR Poker.
Week 1 of the NOSS series starts on Sunday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. EST with a $30,000 guaranteed Kick-off Main Event PKO. This comes with a $5 buy-in and $0.50 fee attached with 8- and 10-minute blind levels and a Progressive Knockout format.
The first of the freebuy tournaments takes place a few days later. Freebuy SS #1 is for a $500 guaranteed prize pool, and this occurs on Tuesday, June 1 at noon EST. This has $0 buy-in and fee, but rebuys and addons are $1 each.
The entirety of the FBSS and NOSS series run through Wednesday, June 30. Then on Saturday, July 3 the nanoKING of June FreeRoll will take place, combining both series together and offering you the chance to get your cut of a $5,000 guarantee. This also has a $0 buy-in and no fee to pay. It will be open to all previous FBSS/NOSS tournament winners to compete in.
Three Main Events to Look Forward to in the Series
Three big Main Events will be occurring as part of the NOSS and FBSS series. As well as the aforementioned Kick-off Main Event on the opening day, the FBSS Main Event will take place on Sunday, June 13 at 1:00 p.m. With $25,000 guaranteed, Freebuy SS #38 has $0.00 buy-in and fee, and rebuys and addons are $20.
The largest Main Event in the series comes with a $100,000 guarantee. Three flights for this will occur daily from May 30 through to June 27 with Day 2 taking place on Monday, June 28. Featuring a $0.99 buy-in, this is the third and final Main Event for you to participate in.
Combining the three Main Events together allows you to win a share of $155,000. And you don’t have to spend a huge amount of money to buy-in to these tournaments, either.
Throughout the FBSS and NOSS, a variety of poker games will be available to play, including the popular Texas Hold’em variant. This will be joined by Pot Limit Omaha and PLO/8 options as well with many of the events being Progressive Knockouts.
