The Winning Poker Network, including America’s Cardroom and Black Chip Poker, is back at it again with another exciting poker tournament series. The Fast Track to Vegas Turbo Series begins on June 9 and runs through June 16.
As the name of the series implies, this tournament series culminates with one lucky winner earning a $12,500 package to go to Las Vegas and play in the Main Event of the World Series of Poker. This prize will be awarded to the top finisher on the Fast Track to Vegas Leaderboard.
Although the Main Event entry is the major highlight, it is really only a small portion of what this event series has to offer. The series includes 34 numbered tournament events. There are actually far more than 34 events because each numbered event offers more than one buyin level.
Most of the events are in Turbo format, as the name alludes to, with most events offering low, medium, and high buyin levels. Some of the events are Bounty events, some are PKO (Progressive Knockout), and there are Hold'em and Omaha variants throughout.
The Fast Track to Vegas series runs for exactly one week. There are 34 numbered events, although most of these events feature three different buyin levels, so there are actually far more than 34 tournaments to choose from.
For example, VFTS #18 is a PKO Turbo PLO8 event with three different buyin levels. There is the VFTS #18L PKO Turbo $1,000 GTD with a $5.50 buyin, a VFTS #18M PKO Turbo $3,000 GTD with a $16.50 buyin, and a VFTS #18H PKO Turbo $6,000 GTD with a $66 buyin.
Many of the events offer buyins as low as $1.10 with some buyins as high as $109, so there are plenty of affordable options for lower-stakes players. There are not any truly high-stakes events in this series, however, so high rollers may need to look elsewhere or play in one of the normally scheduled events at ACR Poker.
As the name of the event references, many of the events are in a Turbo format, meaning the blinds increase more quickly than a standard tournament.
Some of the events are Progressive Knockout tournaments. In these events, when you knock a player out you will receive half of their bounty and the other half will be added to your bounty.
Most of the events are No Limit Hold'em, but there are also exactly three PLO8 tournaments on the schedule.
There are three different multi flight main events. There is a $50,000 GTD Goin to Vegas PKO with a $2.50 buyin, a $150,000 GTD Goin to Vegas PKO with a $16.50 buyin, and a $500,000 GTD Goin to Vegas PKO with a $66 buyin.
Day 1 flights began on June 2 and run all the way through June 16, so there is still plenty of time to participate in Day 1. Day 2 is scheduled to begin on June 16 for all three main events.
The leaderboard will award the top 10 finishers with tournament tickets or the cash prize equivalent. 2nd - 10th place finishers on the leaderboard will receive a $630 tournament ticket for the June 23 Main Event Satellite that guarantees 10 Main Event packages worth $12,500 each.
The top overall finisher will receive a $12,500 package to play the Main Event at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The winner can also choose to skip the Main Event and keep the cash instead.
Points are awarded according to the following formula: The square root of the prize pool divided by the square root of the finishing position. Only Fast Track to Vegas series events will award leaderboard points, and only individuals who finish in the money will receive points.
