WPN Online Super Series Main Events Beckon: $2.5M GTD
The Winning Poker Network, including ACR Poker, True Poker, and Black Chip Poker, is currently running The Online Super Series (OSS). Of particular note is the fact that several of the Main Events of the OSS are set to get underway this very weekend (Feb. 24 - 26). It's not too late to get in the action!
Over the course of the entire OSS, $16 million is guaranteed in prizes across more than 300 events. The series began on Monday, Feb. 12 and runs through Monday, Feb. 26.
Online Super Series Info
The Online Super Series (OSS) is an affair offered by the sites on the Winning Poker Network, including ACR Poker, True Poker, and Black Chip Poker, several times per year. The series features more than 200 numbered events with many more events actually taking place during the series because some of the tournaments share the same number and are differentiated with a final letter (e.g., H, M, L).
We have already covered the 2024 Online Super Series in detail on this website, but in this article, we would like to focus specifically on the Main Events scheduled through Feb. 25th and 26th. Be aware that these Main Events, along with every other tournament on the OSS schedule, count toward the lucrative series leaderboards! Thus, you still have the opportunity to advance your position in the rankings and try to secure your share of the $30,000 in added prizes up for grabs.
Three Massive Main Events February 25 and 26
Three main events highlight the schedule for this years OSS. The OSS #5 $1,050-buyin Main Event and the OSS #6 $215-buyin Main Event are both scheduled to start on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 12:05 pm ET. The guarantee attached to the former is an even $1 million while the latter tournament guarantees $500,000.
The series also features a third main event which has a $630 buyin, a guaranteed $1,000,000 prize pool, and multiple day 1s running through Feb. 26.
Main Events #5 and #6
Events #5 and #6 are the culmination of a massive series consisting of hundreds of tournament events that have been ongoing throughout February.
Both of these exceptional events will feature 32 15-minute blind levels for the first day of the competition. Re-buys will be available through level 32 which is also the end of day one.
Day two will resume on February 26th at 1:30 pm ET for both events. For event number 5, the levels will again be 15-minutes long, but event 6 will shorten the levels to 12-minutes.
Multi Flight Main Event #1
The Multi Flight Main Event is OSS event #1. This spectacular event features a buyin of $630 and a massive $1,000,000 GTD prize pool. Day one flights began on Feb. 11, but there is still plenty of time to hop in and participate as day 1 flights run through the morning hours of Feb. 26.
Players can enter multiple flights so long as they fail to qualify for day two. Once qualified for day two, you can no longer enter additional day one flights. This offers a great opportunity to fire more than one bullet in day one if you aren't able to make it to Day 2 on your first entry. Day 2 of the event is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 26 at 2:05 p.m.
Only 10% of the field makes it to the end of each Day 1. The upshot of this is that everyone who survives to Day 2 is guaranteed a minimum prize of double the buyin ($1,200), and this amount is paid out immediately after the conclusion of each Day 1 flight.
Mystery Bounty Events
The Mystery Bounty Tournaments will also culminate with day two scheduled for the same weekend as all three Main Events. There is still time to register for day one of these special events with flights running through the weekend of Feb. 24.
The way these events work is that half of the buy-in will go toward bounties, and the other half will go towards the guaranteed prize pool. Once players reach day 2, they will start to receive randomized bounties for knocking other players out of the event.
There are three different Mystery Bounty Tournaments with varying buyin levels. There is a $109 buy-in with $750,000 GTD, a $16.50 buy-in with $200,000 GTD, and a $2.50 buy-in $75,000 GTD.
Day 2 will take place on Monday, Feb. 26 for the $750,000 GTD event while Day 2 takes place on Feb. 25 for the two smaller events. All three tourneys will begin their second day of play at 2:05 p.m. ET.
Qualify for Less with a Satellite
There are many satellites available that allow players to qualify for these main events for less. For example, there are $109 satellites available for OSS #5, which features a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. These satellites will award the top five finishers with a $1,050 entry to the main event.
There are also satellites to get into the $109 satellite, known as a supersat. For $11, you can enter the supersat to win your way into the $109 satellite. The top five finishers in the supersat will win an entry into the larger $109 satellite.
