The Winning Poker Network, including America’s Cardroom and Black Chip Poker, is back at it again with more huge guaranteed prize money. The Online Super Series (OSS) XL returns, and this time it features $50 million in guaranteed prizes spread over more than 750 series events. It runs from Sunday, March 1 through Monday, March 23.

Despite the official OSS schedule showing numbered events up to only #399, the series actually features more than 750 action-packed tournaments. The reason behind this seeming discrepancy lies in the separation of some of the events into high, medium, and low versions. A few even have a fourth, micro edition.
For instance, OSSXL #138H ($40,000 GTD PKO 6-Max) costs $66 to enter while OSSXL #138M ($20,000 GTD PKO 6-Max) and OSSXL #138L ($4,000 GTD PKO 6-Max), which occur on the same day and begin at the same time, are priced at $22 and $6.60 respectively. Meanwhile, #138Micro ($500 GTD PKO 6-Max) costs just $1.10 to enter.
Therefore, there are far more series events than you might think by looking at the numbers attached to these tournaments.
Buyins start at a low roller-friendly $0.55. More expensive events beckon for those who want a bigger thrill up to $10,300. Thus, the OSS XL caters to those of all bankroll levels.

In addition to having a broad menu of buyin levels to choose from, the OSS XL offers several varieties of poker. Though most of the tourneys are for the ever-present NL Hold'em, there are a reasonable number of PLO and PLO8 contests too as well as a few 5 Card PLO and 5 Card PLO/8 games. However, limit games, like Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo and Limit Hold’em, are absent.
Occasional turbo and 6-max events provide a break from the routine as do progressive knockouts. Mystery bounties and hypers are a couple of the other wrinkles you'll see in the series.
With the number of tournaments on the OSS roster XL, no single individual can enter them all. Therefore, you will have to look carefully in the poker lobby and select those that interest you the most. Nevertheless, there are a few major events that you may wish to keep your eye on.
This OSS has four separate main events, which are a $2,650 buyin with $2,000,000 GTD (OSSXL #2), a $1,050 buyin also with $2,000,000 guaranteed (OSSXL #3), a $215 buyin with $1,000,000 guaranteed (OSSXL #4), and a $66 buyin with $250,000 guaranteed (OSSXL #11).
The three larger Main Events follow the same schedule. They both have a starting day on Sunday, March 15 at 11:05 a.m. ET and a second starting day at the same time on Sunday, March 22. Then the survivors from these days of play gather at 1:30 p.m. ET on Monday, March 23 to play Day 2. The $66 Main meanwhile runs at 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, March 22.
For the Main with $1m guaranteed, the fun is over after the second day. However, for the two largest Mains, Day 2 plays down only to the final table. Then the remaining individuals reconvene the following day at 2:05 p.m. ET to play until only one remains.
There are six multi-flight events in this installment of the OSS XL. Five of them are Mystery Bounties. This means that there are numerous Day 1 flights, which are combined to play to a conclusion on Day 2. Also on Day 2, randomized bounties are awarded for eliminating opponents.
Three of these Mystery Bounties have a $109 bounty and $500,000 guaranteed. This is the schedule:
There are two smaller Mystery Bounty multi-flights for those who perhaps don't wish to commit $109 to the buyin. OSSXL #9 costs $33 to enter and has a $150,000 guarantee while OSSXL #10 will set you back just $5.50 for the opportunity to win part of the $100,000 prize pool. Both of these tourneys have Days 1s throughout the period from March 1 – 22 followed by Day 2 play on March 22 (at 4:05 p.m. ET for OSSXL #9 and 2:05 p.m. ET for OSSXL #10).
One other major multi-flight tourney is set to run during the OSSXL but it uses a regular prize pool not Mystery Bounty format. With a $630 buyin and $1.5 million guarantee, OSS #8 will probably draw in a more serious crowd. Regular flights will occur from March 1 – 23, then Day 2 will begin at 2:05 p.m. ET on Monday, March 23. The final table will play out at the same time the next day.
Phil's Thrill is a regular weekly fixture where high-rollers, sometimes including ACR CEO Phil Nagy himself, pony up $10,300 apiece and fight for the prize pool. The OSS features an XXL version of Phil's Thrill with the same stratospheric buyin but with a $1.5 million guarantee added to the fun. Designated OSSXL Event #1, Phil's Thrill starts on Sunday, March 1 at 2:30 p.m. ET.

As it sometimes does, the Winning Poker Network is providing a leaderboard for the OSS series with $65,000 in added prizes. Actually, there are three separate leaderboards, catering to different levels of buyins: Low (under $15), Mid ($16.50 - $88), and High ($104.50 and over). Points toward the leaderboards are generated for in-the-money finishes only and are awarded based on the square root of the prize pool divided by the square root of a player's finishing position.
The Low leaderboard will pay out as follows:
The Medium Leaderboard meanwhile will award the following:
The High leaderboard will pay out these awards:

Although many of the MTTs on the OSS lineup are already geared toward those on smaller bankrolls, there's another way to participate in some of the events even if funds are low. A broad array of satellites exists that let you attempt to win your seat for less than the sticker price. These qualifying tournaments are priced at just a few bucks, and actually, there are even freeroll satellites that cost nothing to enter.
