MicroMillions 10, hosted by PokerStars, is set to kick off on March 19th, and players can get their share of over $5,000,000 in guaranteed prize money playing their favorite tournaments!
PokerStars is the tournament king for a reason, and they are flexing that muscle hard with the MicroMillions 10 tournament series that is set to run from March 19th – March 29th. The series is going to feature 100 events and have $5,000,000 guaranteed across all of those events. If past PokerStars series are any indication though the tournaments are sure to be much larger than their advertised guarantee. This series provides a great opportunity for micro and small limit players to get a taste of big paydays with little investment, and is something that really isn’t done to this degree on any other site.
The series hosts a myriad of different buy-in levels (all of them being quite small though) and game offerings. Players who don’t want to play just no limit, or want a small break from the normal grind are going to be in luck and still have chances are large prize pools. There is a $3.30 $10,000 stud, a $5.50 $10,000 LHE 6-max, an $8.00 $20,000 HORSE and much more offered during the series. The Omaha 8 or better tournaments are some of the biggest outside of the NL tournaments, marked by a $25,000 guarantee on the final day of the series, but Pot Limit Omaha also has some healthy tournaments as well.
The NLHE tournaments are not all your run of the mill freezeouts as there is a healthy mix of rebuys, cubed (2 rebuy with 1 add-on) and many other variations. PokerStars also is offering up some of their unique takes on NL tournaments such a bubble dash, ante up and progressive super knockout. These tournaments have high guarantees, but provide a little bit different fun for players who don’t want to play the same thing 70 times over. It’s also important to note that most PokerStars tournaments are not re-entry, which is a big change from most networks.
Of course, one of the things that we have all come to expect on PokerStars is very large prize pools and as mentioned this series is no disappointment in that respect. The final day of the series boasts three tournaments with over $75,000 in guarantees. The two largest tournaments are an $11 $300,000 guarantee special Sunday Storm edition and the Main Event, which is a $22 $1,000,000 guaranteed event. The staggeringly large Main Event tournament guarantees over $100,000 for the first place finisher in the tournament. It’s an ambitious schedule with ambitious guarantees, but the world’s largest poker site really has shown no reason to think that they can’t meet and even beat those guarantees.
PokerStars is one of the few sites around that still provides leaderboards for its players to compete in and this tournament series is no different. The top 100 players will win prizes, and it is going to be pretty lucrative for the top 10 places overall. 100th up to 11th will win 1 Sunday Million ticket, while 2nd through 10th will get 5 tickets to the Sunday Million, which is a $1,095 value. 1st place on the MicroMillions 10 leaderboard will receive 6 months’ worth of Sunday Million tickets. It’s not immediately clear if those tickets must be used in a 6 month period or are up to the player’s discretion on when to use them.
PokerStars is once again providing the largest tournament series available to a certain player base, this time that being micro limit players.
