The High Five tourney series is back at ACR Poker with 220 total events taking place this time around. It will run from March 10 to 31, so there will be plenty of opportunities for you to pick the days that you most feel like smoking the competition. The total guaranteed prize money up for grabs is a cool $12.2 million, a modest step down from the August High Five's $14.4 million, but still enough to make this one of the most lucrative High Five series to date.
Besides ACR, the series events are accessible from any Winning Poker Network skin, including BlackChip Poker, True Poker, and Ya Poker.
Every day during the series has 10 High Five MTTs, but a few have one or two more because there are several events that run multiple versions, designated “A,” “B,” et cetera. For instance, Hi5 #10A, $15,000 Boski's Daily Double Joint with a buyin of $11, starts at 6:15 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 10. Event #10B, with the same name, format, and buyin level, begins half an hour later at 6:45. Thus, there are actually more than 220 total tournaments throughout the series and often more than 10 a day.
To cater to players of different bankroll levels, half of the tourneys each day are designated as low-stakes events, with buyins of $33 or less, while the other five are intended as higher-stakes contests.
They are accessible at different times of the day with each day's events generally starting around 10 a.m. ET and continuing on all day through the night. Most of the events are No Limit Texas Hold'em affairs, but there are a few PLO8 and 5 Card PLO8 games sprinkled into the mix. Buyins range from $1 + $0.10 to $1,000 + $50 while the guaranteed prize pools run from $1,000 up to $1,000,000.
With multiple MTTs starting every day, you can pretty much log in any day during the series and find something you're interested in playing. However, you may wish to mark your calendar for Sunday, March 31 because this is when the two Hi5 Main Events will be taking place.
Both Main Events will begin at 12:05 p.m. ET. Tournament #214 on the High Five roster is a $500,000 guaranteed affair known as The Half Pounder, and it costs $215 to join. The very next numbered event, #215, has a prize pool of at least $1,000,000 and a buyin of $630. It's called The Sunday Blunt Roller.
As an added incentive to get you fired up to play in the High Five series, the Winning Poker Network is providing a value-added leaderboard giving away $2,650 seats to the prestigious VENOM tournament in April. This momentous event will have $12.5 million guaranteed, making it one of the most lucrative online poker tournaments of the year not just at the WPN but across the entire industry.
Actually, there are two separate leaderboards: one for low ($33 and below) buyin tournaments and another for higher buyins ($44+). Each leaderboard will distribute VENOM entries to the top 10 players. Points toward the leaderboards are determined by the square root of the prize pool in any given tournament over the square root of a player's finishing position in that MTT. However, only in-the-money finishes award any points.
If you're eager to jump into the High Five and try to parlay your poker skills into a big tournament payday, then you'll need to have a valid account at a participating network site first. We advise our readers to play at ACR Poker, which is the flagship WPN site.

There are a number of other reputable rooms on the Winning Poker Network, but each of them is inferior to ACR in a number of small ways.
