Video Strip Poker HD - The Video Game

In the early 2000s, playing games where stripping was involved was becoming increasingly popular. Many fans who wanted to find out how to play strip poker in a live party night setting with friends were turning to video games to hone their skills.

One of the later entrants into strip poker video gaming, Torquemada Games was established in 2002 in an effort to capitalize on the improvements in video game technology over the quality seen in the decade before.

This game still couldn't deliver the thrills of a live party-style stripping game held with a group of friends but was a good entry point for anyone wanting some more solitary fun and as a way to learn how to play.

Based in Europe, Torquemada was clearly well-positioned at the time to bring a strip poker game to market that could compete effectively with competitors. They had a chance to create a stylish product that offered interactivity and could be played intuitively, and give players a significantly better gaming experience.

With a wide team focused on development, their efforts resulted in the release in 2013 of a title known as Video Strip Poker HD.

At the time, this version was noted as a high-end Video Strip Poker game that offered full HD quality and the ability to play interactively against opponents from all over the world. This represented a large step up from most of the previous strip poker video games, some of which had given a good poker gaming experience, but was somewhat lacking in visual quality.

The game itself was unsurprisingly based on the now routine format of 5 card draw, although there was a choice of playing with a 32 or 52 cards deck, or 7-A or 2-A with no jokers.

Alongside the HD video quality, players were able to enjoy the game in full screen or a smaller window at the click of a button, or change the aspect ratio of displayed images.

The Gameplay in Video Strip Poker HD

Like all strip poker games, the ultimate goal is to get your opponents in a heightened state of undress. In Video Strip Poker HD, there were some additions to the gameplay designed to add a little extra fun.

There are buttons placed at the bottom right which - when pressed - act as a wish system. Make a wish, and the girl would either show you more or do something else for your benefit. I know what you're thinking here, but no, the game wasn't that clever!!

What you could do though is to encourage a more revealing reaction, perhaps with the offer of a drink (which would cost you some of your virtual bankroll).

To get more money, the girl will offer to buy a piece of clothing, while you could replay the entire stripping sequence from the start by winning that clothing item.

Play is based on a heart system, with the player receiving one heart for every girl undressed. Each heart gives the player the chance to start the next round from the stage of undress which the girl has reached. Get all the hearts, and see the whole strip show.

Each player involved started the game with an equally sized bankroll. If the girl player didn't have enough money to bet, she could bet an item of clothing which would be lost if she lost the hand. If she won the hand, she could buy back a clothing item and cover up some of the previously exposed flesh.

There were some interesting additions intended to spice up the fun, with the girls flirting in the hands, laughing, and joking. There were also some differences in the ability of the computerized players, with some playing with skill and others in a more careless fashion.

The ultimate objective of the game was, of course, for the player to win enough rounds to force one of the game models into fully stripping all their clothes.
