VENOM Fever Promises Thousands of Free $2,650 Seats

The Winning Poker Network's record-setting $12.5 million guaranteed VENOM tournament is coming up in April, and there are thousands of free seats up for grabs in Venom Fever. This is a series of qualifying tournaments, of varying prices and descriptions, that are offered as a way to drum up participation in the $2,650 event especially amongst those without an extra couple grand to burn. These satellites are already live at ACRPoker, BlackChip Poker, True Poker, and the other WPN member sites.

Let's take a look at the myriad ways of scoring your VENOM entry for less than the full sticker price:

The Beast Satellites

Podium

You can gain entry to a Beast and SnC satellite by placing highly on either The Beast cash game leaderboard or the Sit & Crush leaderboard for SNG players. Both of these contests run weekly and award – in addition to the satellite entries –cash prizes to the top places. Generally, more than 300 individuals earn their entries into a qualifier tournament every week.

The schedule of these satties is as follows:

  • 30 seats GTD Sunday, March 17
  • 30 seats GTD Sunday, March 24
  • 30 seats GTD Sunday, March 31
  • 40 seats GTD Sunday, April 7
  • 40 seats GTD Sunday, April 14
  • 50 seats GTD Sunday, April 21

Each of these Beast and SnC satellites takes place at 6:05 p.m. ET. Besides qualifying through a weekly leaderboard, you also have the option of paying $95 to enter. IMPORTANT NOTE: Should you qualify for the Venom via one of these satellites before April 14, you will be automatically pre-registered for Day 1A of the Venom on April 14 without the ability to unregister.

Adding up the total seats guaranteed, we see that there are 220 of them to be given away in the weekly Beast & SnC satellite .

VenomFever MADNESS

There are a series of four multi-flight tournaments known as VenomFever MADNESS. The flights began March 3 and are set to continue through April 27. Each one costs $16.50 and they run every two hours between 8:05 a.m. ET and 11:05 p.m. ET.

The Day 2s of these tournaments occur on Sunday, March 17; Sunday, March 31; Saturday, April 13; and Saturday, April 27. Each fires off at 2:05 p.m. ET and guarantees 15 VENOM tickets. These Day 2s see the surviving players from each flight gather and battle it out for the free seats. Between the four VenomFever Madness tournaments, there are 60 seats up for grabs.

MEGA Satellites

Each weekend day from Sunday, March 24 through Sunday, April 28, there will be MEGA satellites running with between 8 and 60 Venom seats guaranteed in each of them. Over the course of 21 of these MEGAs, 668 guaranteed Venom tickets are available.

They're priced at $55, $109, $290, and $630 with the more expensive MEGAs tending to award more seats. Each MEGA starts at between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. ET.

Besides buying in directly to a MEGA, you can take advantage of the satellite paths, which allow you to buy in for a lower amount and win your way through subsequent levels until you earn your MEGA ticket.

The MEGA satellite paths available are:

  • Freeroll to $0.55 to $5.50 to $55
  • Freeroll to $1.10 to $11 to $109
  • Freeroll to $2.50 to $33 to $290
  • Freeroll to $6.60 to $66 to $630

VENOM Direct Satellites

Perhaps the easiest and most straightforward way of snagging a Venom seat, direct satellites pay out in $2,650 entries with no prerequisites or multiple steps required. There are 781 seats guaranteed in these tournaments, which begin March 24.

The buyins offered are $33, $55, $104.50, $109, $207.50, and $290, so you can choose the price point that works best for you. Each MTT guarantees between one and five VENOM seats.

First-time Depositors Satellite

Everyone who makes their first deposit by April 5 will get the opportunity to play in a special 6-max satellite on April 7. All six final tablists are guaranteed a Venom seat.

Another satellite with the same format will take place on April 27 for those who make their initial deposits from April 7 through 26.

Other Ways to Join Venom
