Artworx Strip Poker Video Game Series

Nothing can quite beat the thrill you'd get from playing in a live strip poker party game with friends, but still there are ways to enjoy some private gaming on a more adult basis without exposing various body parts if that's not your scene.

This is where a more personal form of strip poker comes in, and it comes in the guise of video gaming. Of course, playing poker in stripping game apps is more the normal way to play now, but video gaming had its place and is still popular with older gamers.

One of the earliest developers of strip poker video games were Artworx Software, an American company based in Naples, FL which was originally founded in the early 1980s. They developed plenty of games around poker and other card games, adventure, and arcade, but are most well known for the series of titles known as Artworx Strip Poker 1, 2, 3, and Professional.

On its release in 1985, Strip Poker 1 - A Sizzling Game of Chance was recognized as one of the first of its kind ever created for gaming on the home computers of the time. It could be played on such illustrious gaming platforms as the Commodore 64, Apple 2, Atari 8-bit, MS-DOS, Amiga, and Atari ST.

In addition to the base game involving two female protagonists - Suzi and Melissa - players had the option to buy data disks that expanded the image library. This expansion enhanced the basic gameplay where the two models went through five stages of getting undressed as the game progressed.

Essentially the game was a standard version of 5-card draw with photos of the women being displayed as they stripped.

It wasn't until Strip Poker 3 that the number of models began to increase. In this version, the fun went up a third with the capability to play against three girls at the same time. Digital sound was also introduced, while the actual card play remained the same.

Strip Poker 4 - Professional & Professional Revised

This 4th and last edition was named Strip Poker Professional and appeared like a totally new game on its release in 1994, with a revision following in 1995.

The first Professional version was created in SVGA and featured the same models from Strip Poker III. The rules were unchanged, with the option to play with all three at once.

The 1995 revision took a step forward and was designed to run in multiple formats, plus the ability to play with three brand new stripping models, with the potential to add data disks containing other models and also bring in some from earlier editions.

Of course, the ultimate goal was still the same - get the girls naked by winning 5-card stud hands enough times to entice them to remove all their clothes.
