Winning Poker Network: 3 Ways to Win a 2018 WSOP Seat
The $10,000 Main Event of the World Series of Poker is just a few months away, and eager poker players are busy making their preparations. If you wish to attend but balk at coughing up the $10K buyin, then the Winning Poker Network represents perhaps your best opportunity of scoring a $12,500 WSOP prize package. The network is offering customers three different ways of winning one of these coveted prizes.
1. Multi-table Tournament Satellites
Every Sunday from April 22 to June 10 at 5:15 p.m.ET, there will be a $300 + $20 buyin satellite that guarantees two seats. Similar events will be held on June 17 and June 24, but they have their prize pools boosted to 30 packages and 4 respectively. The buyins for the June 17 and 24 events are also higher though at $500 + $40 and $1,000 + $0. Over the course of these 10 tourneys, there will be at least 50 winners!
2. Step SNGs
If $300 + $20 is more than you can afford, then you can attempt to score your WSOP adventure by progressing through the step sit-n-gos that the WPN will be spreading. In all, there are eight steps to progress through, numbered from 0 to 7. Step 0 costs a trivial $0.25 + $0.03 to enter, so you can achieve your World Series dreams on quite a modest budget. Of course, you can buy in directly to a later step if you so choose.
Each step sit & go is nine-handed, and up to four players in each SNG get a step ticket or cash as prizes. Here's the full breakdown of the costs and rewards at each step:
3. World Series of Jackpots
The World Series of Jackpots is an interesting twist on the normal Jackpot Poker lottery-style SNG. The top multiplier value is replaced by WSOP packages, and here's the best part: When fortune strikes, all three participants walk away with a $12,500 prize.
The World Series of Jackpots is available at two buyin levels: $3 and $30. The normal multiplier arrangements have been adjusted as follows:
About the Prize Packages
Each $12,500 prize consists of $10,000 for the Main Event of the World Series of Poker and $2,500 for travel and accommodation expenses. However, there's no requirement that you actually split up the money in this way because the cash is credited directly to your real money balance without any further obligations on your part.
You can play in the Main Event as intended, craft your own WSOP schedule by playing multiple smaller events, or just keep the $12.5K and use it for other purposes. The decision is yours.
Be aware though that you can only win straight cash once as part of the WPN WSOP qualifier festivities. Should you grab yourself a second package, it will be credited as tournament bucks.
About This Year's WSOP
The 2018 World Series of Poker will run from May 29 to July 17 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are 78 official bracelet events of which the most prominent is, of course, the $10,000 Main Event.
The ME will begin Monday, July 2 and run through Saturday, July 14. There will be three starting flights, on July 2, 3, and 4 at 11 a.m., so entrants have some flexibility as to when they wish to begin playing.
