Revolution Network Lowers Sunday MTT Guarantees...Again

Revolution Gaming logo [www.ProfRB.com]

UPDATE: 8/26, 8:30pm EST: The former $60k GTD Pro Elite Bounty MTT has been further reduced to a $50,000 GTD amount for next Sunday (September 1st). The tournament featured 388 players this past Sunday, down from 436 players on 8/11 (when it was a $75k GTD event) and 426 players on 8/18. No immediate word on whether this is due to the event's penchant for continued overlays, or if it's a pre-emptive measure on the heels of the upcoming American Labor Day weekend.

ORIGINAL: 8/25, 3:27am EST: In what seems to be becoming a weekly ritual, the Revolution Network has once again lowered a large swath of their guaranteed Sunday MTT schedule - continuing the ripple effect of losing a large influx of players from Intertops after the skin opted out of all $1,000 GTD or higher Revolution MTT's.

As tracked here on ProfRB.com, overlays have been rampant in the weeks following the Intertops announcement - which has furthered Revolution's player retention issues after large cashout delays and dwindling trading values of the leading Revolution skin Lock Poker have sent the network into a nosedive.

Of the nine Sunday MTT's we track on Revolution in our overlay reporting (we track all MTT's with GTD's at $5k or higher), two tournaments have been completely taken off the schedule in the last 8 days. The rest of the changes we saw are listed below:

3pm EST $6k GTD $162 -- down to $5k GTD
4pm EST $7.5k GTD Big Bounty $33 -- down to $6k GTD
4pm EST $25k GTD PE Bounty $530 -- down to $20k GTD
6pm EST $5k GTD $22 -- down to $4k GTD
8pm EST $5k GTD $109 -- down to $3.5k GTD
9pm EST $7.5k GTD "High Roller" $215 -- down to $6k

Just a little over one month ago, Revolution was regularly running 18 MTT's on their Sunday schedule that featured guarantee amounts at $5,000 or higher - over $230,000 worth as of July 21st (click here to see it all in detailed spreadsheet form). As of this writing, Revolution now offers five such tournaments on Sunday with guarantees in those MTT's totaling $97,000. As a result, players have been leaving in droves: 4,276 players took part in the aforementioned Sunday MTT's on July 21st. The very next week, eight of the MTT's were reduced below $5k GTD or removed from the schedule completely - leaving 1,545 players to sample their Sunday $5k GTD or better offerings. The player average in those tournaments has been roughly 1,135 over the past two Sundays.

After Intertops announced their new segregation policy over two weeks ago, Revolution saw direct evidence of its effect as the $75k GTD (at the time) Pro Elite Bounty saw a massive $20,500 overlay that following Sunday (8/11) - roughly accounting for the 20-25% of players Intertops formerly fed into that MTT. Since then, all but three of the 17 Sunday MTT's featuring a GTD of $5k or higher (one was dropped from the 8/18 Sunday schedule) have seen overlays, totaling $42,110 in amount.

While the cloud hovering over the Revolution Network continues to fog its outlook moving forward, we here at ProfRB.com continue to support Intertops and feel it is still a viable and trusted option. Unlike other skins on the network who struggle mightily with extremely long cashout waiting periods and dwindling player-to-player transfer values, Intertops has remained above the fray. Our opinion is that they are the only viable skin remaining on Revolution and if you are interested in signing up, consider doing so through Professional Rakeback.

ProfRB is also willing to help displaced MTT players by moving them to Merge skins Carbon Poker, Aced Poker, and/or PokerHost - as well as to Bovada - both of which boast the best MTT schedules in the US market. In some cases, we may even be able to facilliate a direct bankroll transfer from Intertops to sites such as PokerHost or Winning Poker Network skins America's Cardroom, True Poker, and/or Black Chip Poker.
