UPDATED: 4-28-14, 1:30pm EST: Over the past week, the Revolution Network has raised table rake caps across network-partnered rooms such as Intertops Poker and Juicy Stakes - this according to several posters on the Twoplustwo poker forum and confirmed by ProfRB.com. We have the details of this change below.
The previous flat max rake cap of $3 per hand played has been raised across most ring game table stakes on Revolution Network online poker rooms. The move came with no announcement from Revolution; instead, players such as this poster on Twoplustwo noticed the additional rake being taken from a pot he was playing in and posted a hand example in the Intertops support thread.
ProfRB.com has confirmed the new rake cap amounts - updated after a post from the Intertops rep on Twoplustwo on Monday - which is in effect at the following table stakes:
No limit/pot limit holdem, Omaha, Omaha H/L:
The rep also stated that Intertops was not told ahead of time that this change was taking place.
According to the Intertops website, the max rake cap amount for European and other rest-of-world (ROW) players was also increased to 5 euros across all ring game levels (nearly $7 in US dollars at present exchange rate). This makes the rake very high at this network. For some price sensitive customers, this may be the last straw as their poker bankroll and entertainment budgets can not bare the burden of extra rake. For these consumers, we suggest that you try one of the poker sites with the lowest rake. We have tabulated all of the available options, put together charts, and given our recommendations so check it out.
Revolution has struggled in recent months in terms of attracting more foot traffic in cash game and multi-table tournament offerings. According to Game Intel, the Revolution Network is seventh among US-facing operations in cash game traffic, sporting nearly the same statistics as the Bitcoin-only poker room Seals With Clubs. And while there is little concern as to the long-term stability of reputable rooms on the network (ProfRB.com still recommends Juicy Stakes and Intertops as the only safe and secure options on Revolution), players were hoping that after severing ties with former Revolution flagship Lock Poker in October of last year, the network would eventually recover and begin rebuilding its offerings.
Thus far, aside from some tournament guarantees being slightly increased, cash game traffic has been slow to respond. Traffic is still steady, however, if not overwhelming when compared to other US-facing online poker networks such as Bovada | Bodog, Merge, or the Winning Poker Network.
