Utilizing our own reports, ProfRB.com breaks down and highlights US-facing online poker tournaments that feature overlays from the previous week. Online tournament players looking for an edge to give them the greatest value are bound to find this new weekly MTT Value | Overlay Report full of useful information.
The report below factors all US-facing online poker room | network tournaments featuring guarantees of $5,000 or higher. This is generally the range we track on our MTT Overlay Reports, though we've recently added a few more MTT's on the Winning Poker Network in an effort to better reflect their overall schedule. In addition, we also track several MTT's on the Revolution Network below the $5,000 threshold since only one tournament (the $15,000 GTD Sunday major) on their current schedule eclipses this mark.
In this week's report, the Merge Gaming Network leads the field for a fourth straight week with another slight increase in overlays from last week's action. But don't expect this trend to continue, as ProfRB.com first reported earlier this week that all Merge online poker rooms have been reintegrated - and the early results are clear (more below). The Winning Poker Network saw a notable increase in overlays this week, while Bovada, which had been slowly trending upward in overlays as of late, saw a slight reduction. The Equity Poker Network makes its mark as well as we get our first full look at their overlay offerings, while Revolution trended a hair north with small increases over the previous seven-day period.
Merge Gaming Network: 15 overlays worth $22,895 from Friday, Apr 4th through Thursday, Apr 10th
DOWN: 7 overlays and up $3,875 from last report
After the news was announced (first by ProfRB.com!) that Merge had reintegrated all partner rooms, the overlay totals in this report almost immediately became fodder for the archives. The impact has been swift: traffic is up at least 40% if not more in tournament and cash game offerings in just two days. Merge even jacked up the nightly High Roller, formerly at a $12.5k guarantee, to a $20k guarantee just a day after the desegregation took effect - and they've had no problem meeting it (pools in Wednesday and Thursday High Roller tournaments were north of $28,000 in each offering). The major impact on tournament play should be seen this weekend, as Merge has already increased the Sunday Big Ticket guarantee to $125,000 and although no additional changes have been made, we expect overlays to be few and far between. It's been a welcome change for players looking to grind more MTT's with solid guarantees.
Other MTT's of note: As highlighted in our Merge Network Overlays and Tournament Results page, Merge offers several Sunday offerings for players looking for potential added value. The $12.5k GTD for $33 and $10k GTD for $11 at 4pm EST, along with the $15k GTD $109 at 7pm EST, give players of wide ranging ability ample opportunity for a solid score.
Winning Poker Network: 16 overlays worth $14,910 from Friday, Apr 4th through Thursday, Apr 10th
UP: 7 overlays and $10,595 from last report
Just a week after overlays appeared to be on the decline thanks to the rub from a very successful Online Super Series, the Winning Poker Network was once again in the five figures as a shift in tournament starting times caused some big time added value to occur. The $12.5k was moved to an earlier time of 6pm EST, and in the process player fields were lower as grinders got used to the change. But as the week progressed, numbers decreased slightly and thus caused significant overlays to the tune of over $10,000 in just four offerings. This is just the beginning of changes in the MTT schedule, though, as the WPN tournament director has hinted at more tournaments being added to the schedule soon. And as players get used to the additions and changes, there is usually a grace period where overlays can be found. For those seeking added value, now is quite a good time.
Other MTT's of note: As highlighted in our Winning Poker Network Overlays and Tournament Results page, WPN offers a weekly $50,000 GTD on Sunday's (bumped to $100,000 once a month) and a daily $5,000 GTD, which now runs at 8pm EST Monday through Friday, and at 2pm EST on Saturday and Sunday.
Bovada Poker (part of Bodog Network): 8 overlays worth $4,080 from Friday, Apr 4th through Thursday, Apr 10th
DOWN: 3 overlays and $2,316 from last report
Two tournaments have emerged as potential added value targets among the dozens offered daily by Bovada, which is clearly the leading online poker room for US players. This makes it even more attractive for all grinders, especially with the slow season beginning to show. So as summer nears and overlays are spotted here and there, expect some fluctuation in terms of regularity. Last week's 11 overlays was the most recorded in a 7-day period by ProfRB.com since recording began last August.
Other MTT's of note: As highlighted in our Bovada Overlays and Tournament Results page, Bovada offers up all kinds of options for every type of tournament player. While not quite at the level of pre-Black Friday offerings for US players, Bovada does offer a $100,000 Sunday MTT that frequently reaches over $150,000 in prize money and is far and away the largest regularly scheduled multi-table tournament available to players from the USA. Pick your poison here, MTT grinders - there's something for everyone.
Equity Poker Network: 14 overlays worth $3,987 from Friday, Apr 4th through Thursday, Apr 10th
UP: 11 overlays and $3,587 from last report
The first full week of recorded tournament results are in for the Equity Poker Network, who comes in this week with Pokerhost fully integrated into the network pool. While there aren't many high-guarantee MTT's, added value is everywhere you look. In the above graphic, 14 overlays occured out of a possible 16 (one running of the $1.5k at 8:02pm EST was not recorded), and nearly $4,000 in added value was up for the taking. The tournament sample above all feature re-entry and add-on options, which means as overlays continue, player fields could remain on the smaller side. This is a great opportunity for the player who enjoys a more intimate setting while grinding towards the final table. And as their schedule shakes out (we believe additional tournaments may be added in the future), you can bet these opportunities will continue.
Revolution Network: 7 overlays worth $1,475 from Friday, Apr 4th through Thursday, Apr 10th
DOWN: 1 overlay and up $997 from last report
The MTT schedule on the Revolution Network (we recommend Intertops and Juicy Stakes for US players looking for safe, secure Revolution poker rooms) still leaves a bit to be desired. With only a small amount of tournaments nearing $1,000 GTD or better (though one more was added to start April - the $27.50 $1k GTD at 2:30pm EST), you are hard pressed to find overlays of substantive value. However, the Sunday $15,000 GTD offering has historically shown to be a destination for added value. With player fields generally in the 115-140 range and a tendency to overlay in streaks, it's still a solid stop on your Sunday grind. Monday through Saturday, however, the appeal for grinders are the lower player fields in relation to the lower guarantees. There's still money to be made, but there's no comparing the breadth of the current Revolution tournament schedule to rivals on WPN, Bovada, or Merge.
Other MTT's of note: As highlighted in our Revolution Network Overlays and Tournament Results page, bigger guarantees are harder to find. However, several deep-stacked turbo MTT's run daily with guarantees of $500, $850, and $1,000. Rebuy tournaments with $1,000 guaranteed also run, usually at least once daily.
