Weekly USA Online Poker Overlay Report (MTT tournaments)

Online poker overlays from USA friendly sites; multi-table tournament results and added value opportunities for US and ROW players in a weekly report.

The report below factors all US-facing online poker room tournaments featuring guarantees of $5,000 or higher. This is generally the range we track on our Overlay and Tournament Results reports, though we've added a few more MTT's on the Winning Poker Network in an effort to better reflect their overall schedule. In addition, we also track several MTT's below the $5,000 threshold on the Equity Poker Network and Intertops Poker since only a few tournaments on their current schedules eclipse this mark.

We were on a hiatus last week, so keep in mind we're comparing results from two weeks ago. In this week's report, overlays were down largely across the board. The Winning Poker Network reclaimed the top spot this week, while Bovada and Ignition Poker saw a big reduction in overlays from two weeks ago. The Merge Gaming Network, flagshipped by Carbon Poker featured increases in the number of overlays, but saw the dollar value of those overlays fall from two weeks ago. The Equity Poker Network is enjoying some slightly increased player traffic, reducing overlay totals in recent weeks. And finally, Revolution saw just a smidge of an increase in overlays, while Seals With Clubs had only one overlay which occured in their Sunday major tournament (we only track Sunday SWC tournaments at this time).

The Winning Poker Network heads into its new High Five Tournament series (ongoing through Sunday, June 15th) with a multi-table tournament schedule ripe with added value opportunities. Overlays continue to track on the high side, though dollar amounts and frequency was down heading into the beginning of the typically slower summer season. While the big tournaments on the daily schedule generally are hit and miss for overlays, it's the smaller guaranteed MTT's that are the usual overlay suspects. The $2.5k, $4k 6-max, and the $12.5k (especially) are usually good for an overlay on a daily basis. And while the monthly $100,000 guaranteed Sunday event also overlaid this past week, the weekly $50,000 usually sees player fields above 300 players. All in all, there's never been a better time to join a tournament on WPN. Players of all skill sets should see plenty of chances for nice paydays and added value.

Other MTT's of note: As highlighted in our Winning Poker Network Overlays and Tournament Results page, WPN offers a weekly $50,000 GTD on Sundays (bumped to $100,000 once a month), a daily $5,000 GTD, and a new $20,000 GTD High Roller event on Sundays (which has obliterated the stated guarantee in every running thus far!).

Even Bovada, the US-facing arm of the Bodog Network, is not immune to the summer slow season. Overlays have been occuring on a much more frequent basis as of late, giving both USA and rest-of-world (ROW) players ample reason to sit at their MTT tables. Their schedule continues to be the most massive among US-friendly poker sites, and when you sprinkle in the odd overlay here or there, you simply can't miss taking part in the offerings on this poker room. Particularly on Saturdays, as it appears this is the day when most of the added value opportunities are strongest. Over $9,000 worth of overlays occured this past Saturday, making up about 75% of the weekly overlay dollar amount.

Other MTT's of note: As highlighted in our Bovada Overlays and Tournament Results page, Bovada offers up all kinds of options for every type of tournament player. While not quite at the level of pre-Black Friday offerings for US players, Bovada does offer a $100,000 Sunday MTT that frequently reaches over $150,000 in prize money and is far and away the largest regularly scheduled multi-table tournament available to players from the USA in terms of player field. Choices are aplenty here, MTT grinders - there's something for everyone.

The Merge Gaming Network has seen a solid increase in player fields over the past number of weeks. As a result, overlays have been more infrequent than in months past. We're now a good two months past Merge's April decision to reintegrate across network player pools, and the results have been very encouraging. With word that tournament guarantees will be on the rise in the coming days and weeks, Merge continues to 'emerge' as the de-facto #2 poker room available for US players. Merge's Sunday schedule has proven to be more than just a solid stop on your weekend grind. The $125,000 guaranteed Big Ticket has seen prize pools swell to over $135,000 in recent weeks, and while overlays may be hard to find, more money in the kitty is always a good thing for all types of players.

Other MTT's of note: As highlighted in our Merge Network Overlays and Tournament Results page, Merge offers several offerings for players looking for solid guarantees. Daily tournaments such as the $7.5k GTD's, along with the $20,000 GTD High Roller, give players of all skill levels a great shot at a solid payday.

The Equity Poker Network is one to watch through the coming weeks, as they have been pretty forward thinking when it comes to their daily MTT schedule. Despite a propensity for overlays (which have been on the downswing as of late), Equity continues to add and increase tournament guarantees, showing that they are committed to players for the long haul. Player fields have actually been on the rise as well, and while that may mean overlays will continue to decrease (they are still quite present, for now), that can only be a good thing for US players looking for another stop on their daily grinds. Other MTT's of note: As highlighted in our Equity Poker Network Overlays and Tournament Results page, Equity now runs a $10,000 GTD event each and every Sunday and will be running another $25,000 GTD event this Sunday, June 15th.

The MTT schedule on the Revolution Network (we recommend Intertops and Juicy Stakes for US players looking for safe, secure Revolution poker rooms) still leaves some to be desired. With only a small amount of tournaments nearing $1,000 GTD or better, you are hard pressed to find overlays of substantive value on a mass scale. However, the Sunday $12,500 GTD tournament has historically shown to be a destination for added value. With player fields generally in the 90-120 range and a tendency to overlay in streaks (the field dipped to 89 players this past Sunday), it's still a recommended stop on your Sunday grind. Monday through Saturday, however, the appeal for grinders would be the lower player fields in relation to the lower guarantees. There's still money to be made, obviously, which should satisfy the pallets of any type of tournament player.

Other MTT's of note: As highlighted in our Revolution Network Overlays and Tournament Results page, several deep-stacked turbo MTT's run daily with guarantees between $500-$1,000. Rebuy tournaments with similar guarantees also run at least once daily.

The leading Bitcoin-only online poker site continues to showcase its signature 20,000-chip guaranteed event, which has overlaid in most offering over the past number of weeks. We're only tracking Sunday SWC events for the time being - but the 20,000-chip GTD has emerged as a dependable spot for added value (buy-in is 475+25 SWC chips). You can only deposit and withdraw with Bitcoins, the increasingly popular crypto-currency. But all play on SWC is straight up poker. Players buy in with SWC chips (1 chip equals 0.001 Bitcoins, no matter the fluctuations in value of Bitcoins) and win SWC chips, so all figures in the above graphic are obviously labeled as such. If you're into Bitcoins and love a wild west feel to tournament play, then SWC is by far the best option available and we highly recommend it!

Other MTT's of note: As highlighted in our Seals With Clubs Overlays and Tournament Results page, Seals also runs 1,000 and 1,500-chip GTD events on Sundays that infrequently overlay, giving players even more value for their money.
